My thoughts on Dragon Age: The Veilguard after literally 5 hours of playing it (I was bored so I bought it)

Pros

> Gameplay is actually really fun, even if it doesn't feel like Dragon Age
> They didn't fuck up Solas
> We actually get to see Thedas outside of Ferelden, Orlais, Kirkwall etc.
> Badass Antivan assassin companion
> Character customisation is actually really good

Cons

> What the fuck did they do to Morrigan
> Every plot-relevant problem in the entire franchise can now be boiled down to "elf mages did it"
> Writing falls extremely short at times
> You can't be hilarious and a dick at the same time like in Origins and DA2
> Tone doesn't feel like Dragon Age

Other Things

> Antivan companion with a badass introduction, I wonder where I've seen that before (*cough cough* Zevran)
> I haven't seen the one scene that makes Veilguard the most mocked game in the franchise yet so I'm being a bit lenient so far

Overall I think I'm gonna give the first couple hours a solid 6.5/10, not great but not terrible, depending on how cringeworthy other parts of the game are I might change the rating
