Thanks for everyone’s patience!
I managed to blitz 4 levels today, and they’re a good representation of what to expect from the rest of the game.
The final game will have 3 worlds in total: Forest; Desert; Snow.
Right now, I’ve got 4 levels for Forest completed, so I’ve compiled the game as it currently stands, and it now serves as a basic Demo, that replaces the old ‘prototype’ build I threw up for everyone to download before.
So now there’s a better version of the game to play.
I’ve also changed the counter from counting how many blocks the player has picked up, to how many they have left to pick up. That way players know how many blocks are left to look for, rather than guessing if they’re picked them all up, and looking endlessly for blocks they may have missed.
All that’s left is to make 4 levels for the snow and desert worlds, finish my super secret 4th world (which is basically one huge level of the highest difficulty and no checkpoints), and add things like music and sound effects, polish things like menu buttons and create a main menu if I decide to.
Things like menus and sound effects are icing on the cake for this project. I’d be happy with 3 themed music pieces looping whilst playing the different worlds, and leave it as that. Again, the purpose of the project was to finish something, not to redefine the genre, or create a masterpiece. I’ll see how long everything takes, and where I want to call it a day and move onto my next project.
Go to the distributions page, and download the new ‘Demo 1’ file!
