How do I fix this poor result?

It would be great to see fan art of my Mascot; CLEFINN.

But you know, artists ignore me most of the time...

The first level in Seal Island 8-Bit was kind of "eww" because it was missing a background. So, i managed to make a Game Gear-esque background in there! What do you think?
