Orbit:Omega v1.1 Released: 4 More levels, more gameplay polish, and better multiplayer balance


Just released - Orbit:Omega v1.1 (#lowrezjam 32x32 pixel game):

  • Now there are 10 waves of invaders to challenge you (up from 6).

  • Difficulty in multiplayer has been balanced so that it is a better challenge level. For 2-player games, there are twice as many invaders, but containment walls can take twice as much damage. For 3-player games, there are 3x as many invaders, and containment walls can take 3x as much damage.

  • The AI voice now has more condescending things to say to you.

  • The game now instructs you to click on the screen when it first launches (in an orange pre-title screen), to make sure that it will receive the keyboard inputs.

  • Improved visibility of players’ missile stations.

  • The game thumbnail and header are less busy now.

Here's how to type words with fingers. Now I can start making the real levels. There will be buzzsaws and lava floors.

Just started on this jam today. Made a happy little anthropomorphic finger character, ready to do some typing.

Couch co-op for up to 10 players, who all control anthropomorphic fingers. Step on the special button to randomize the appearance of the finger and distinguish it from the other fingers.

Sometimes the suction cup get sticky. Small animation I made in Blender after doing my tutorial on picking up/dropping objects in animations. Crate model by jQueary (https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/game-ready-sci-fi-crate-d98deca6…).

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.
