Ok so first things first, I've included a poll here with EVERY character in this showcase, and I'd like to know who was YOUR favorite character from the group. Of course, it's all just personal opinions at the end of the day, so just vote for whoever you want! Thank you in advance, the poll will close in 7 days so get your vote in while it's hot!
Secondly, let's be real, Glamrock Freddy HAD to be the final character! It's really poetic to end the showcase with a character who's the current version of the first character, which in other words is "ending where it began". While he's not my PERSONAL favorite character from Security Breach (that honor goes to Monty, the GOAT), I have to admit that Glamrock Freddy is pretty cool! His design is unique, he's voiced by Kellen Goff (which is an automatic bonus point alone), AND he's got PERSONALITY! He's not just some dumb animatronic bear possessed by a kid who hates adults, he's his own being who acts as a protector and knows when to lighten the mood! Call it corny, but I like stuff like that. All I'm saying is that there's a reason people like to draw him as a Papa Bear with Gregory.
Thirdly, it's finally time for me to talk about the big elephant in the room with these games: Security Breach. So, let me be the first person to say that I was originally hyped as HELL for this game! Who wasn't? We were getting some really interesting teasers about the game, the cast got leaked by a calendar of all things (never forget The Calendar of '20), that first reveal trailer was INSANE watching it live, and it genuinely looked like FNAF was heading to the next generations with the new designs, new concepts, new EVERYTHING! When the release date was revealed, it might has well been a straight blast of pure HYPE into everyone watching. FNAF couldn't get better than this! This was definitely gonna be the best FNAF game ever created!
And then the game came out.
Alright so of course you've probably heard it a million times already, but yeah this game did NOT live up to the hype. Glitches were everywhere (you could beat the game super quickly by exploiting a quirk where turning off the voice volume would skip most cutscenes, you sometimes straight up couldn't enter/exist Freddy's stomach hatch, you could clip through environments and see them get t-posed in real-time, and of course Giga Monty), the story was incredibly barebones, optimization was garbage (God help you if you play it on a less-than-super computer), Vanny was borderline non-existent, not being able to save after 6:00 AM just for fake difficulty, and probably the most eye-rolling reveal of all: William returned. Oh yeah, it didn't matter that we brought him back before and ended his arc on a poetic note, of COURSE we gotta bring him back AGAIN and make you deal with him in the most anti-climatic, confusing nothingburger final boss in FNAF history! Wasn't this game fantastic everyone? Ok I kid, to be fair the devs legitimately listened to the criticism and they DID fix almost every notable bug in the game (some still remain but they're not as bad), but the burn was real, no pun intended. Now, I've definitely softened up to the game and while it definitely IS better currently, the story was still pretty wack all things considered. We REALLY didn't need William coming back for the THIRD time in a row. Despite my rant, I still respect Steel Wool for trying to make it as good as they could, considering they had to delay it TWICE and deal with impatient-ass fans. The reveal recently that Scott didn't even tell them the lore and expected them to already know is just genuine insanity, WTF dude? They're not a big company too, with only 20 MEMBERS as of this post. COVID happened too, so it was just an unfortunate problem on top of another unfortunate problem (I ain't talking about Dee Dee). Overall, I really do WANT to like the game, but it just felt like a mismatch of weird ideas, with the only saving grace being the characters, the voice actors did a phenomenal job! Sorry for this basically being a yapping session, I'm just really passionate about this series you know? I'm glad I was able to share this with you all, hope you've enjoyed this crazy ride!
