hello all, glad to be here. today i’m finally putting my feet to the ground, and giving all this paper scrawling some digital life. after this, i will probably begin to pick up on area design concepts and draw character sheets for major characters and introduce them that way, which i think will just be a joy. at some point ill make a nicer icon too, ha ha ha
so what is this?
сад (pronounced sad): the garden, (or the daisy’s epic), is ideally going to be a top-down RPG done in one of two programs i know well (RPGmaker). kinetically driven, it will be about the journey along the way and the time it takes to get there. you will walk with Ritka, a daisy, who lives in a european garden somewhere off. all the flowers know of a myth, a myth that details a mysterious figure who resides in the center of the garden. however, the garden is vast enough to where none of the flora dare traverse out in hopes of finding it. enter Ritka, who, as our innocent hero, believes in himself enough to think he can find it. some encourage him, like his friend Ditya the baby’s breath. others chide him, such as the skeptical mint plant. all major encounters in Ritka’s journey visit a house of philosophy that Ritka must preserve himself and his nature against. self doubt, jealousy, guilt, confusion, and disenfranchisement plague Ritka through his journey. he does eventually reach the center of the garden, and something is there, but i dont know what its supposed to symbolize yet. SOMETHIN’, we’ll figure it out.
this will be something that does encourage looking at and walking about, but it won’t be too big. i don’t want to draw so many plants. cause there will be a TON of plants here. a lot of plant drawings will probably be in here. but i do want it to feel not-TOO-kinetic. sometimes kinetic narrative gets me in that way, as in i’m simply flipping through a book. a little detour gives the kinesis more life, in my eyes.
the mission statement and philosophy of сад is to kiddify philosophy and leave with a sense of optimism, despite the name of the game being a bit of a pun. irony, gotcha!
ok, so that’s me putting my feet to the ground! stay tuned, my nonexistent audience, for another blasted post about something or the other.
