Evening everyone!
I figured I’d end this week’s game work with a devlog before I go for some well needed weekend rest (although I have a programming exam tomorrow ;)).
It’s been a busy week to say the least. I have improved on the turret textures to add a bit of a worn look to them (not too much though!).
Levels 9 and 11 are now finished, and 1, 2 and 8 have been tweaked. Levels 4-6 now have proper spawn points for enemies along with enemy tracks. That leaves only 3 campaign levels to be made, meaning I’m on target with my plan.
I’ve ironed out some bugs relating to the menu when building turrets (one potentially huge one at that, ouch!).
Lastly, I’ve improved the end of level sequence, now the turrets will default to a 0 degree rotation and slowly power down before the screen fades to blue and the player is prompted with the “success” message. I think this works as a nice visual que that the level is over. You can see the idea in the still image below.
That just about covers what has been done this week, the next devlog should be posted around the end of next week, as I have lectures starting next week, progress will most likely be slow, but hopefully there is some interesting news. :)
