Preview Feature!

Game Jolt Firesides are temporary, pop-up chats. An online version of people gathering around a fire and having a chat in the moment.


You may have seen our team tinkering around with a new feature this week...

Firesides are temporary, pop-up chats. When hosting a fireside chat, all of your followers will be notified so that they can join you around the fire and have a chat.

Anyone will be able to access the fireside through the link as well, so pull your friends in. And remember, they're public!

As the host of a fireside, you can kick out spammers or folks bringing down the vibe. It's your fireside chat, you get to make the rules.

After a few minutes, the chat is designed to self destruct. The fire will go out--unless of course you choose to throw another log into the fire!

It's a preview feature

We're launching this as a "preview" feature. What this means is that we're going to try it out to see if people really enjoy using it. If there isn't enough usage, we'll remove the feature.

If you like it, use it!

If you use it, tell us how we can make it better! We need your feedback in order to build the best platform for hanging out with your friends, your followers, and even strangers.

How to create a fireside chat

You can start a fireside chat or join an existing one from your feed.

Each fireside chat has a unique shareable link. Go ahead and share it on Discord and anywhere else for your friends to find and join for an in-the-moment experience.

What's next for fireside

Firesides are only available in the website at the moment. They will be coming to the Client soon. If there's enough interest, we'll also put them in the app.
