More about the Perks...
Perks
I can't even begin to explain how happy I am to finally check off this huge milestone in my game.
The hardest part imo was probably balancing things like prices but most should be final (I can always patch it later if not) I did the math and you should never be able to hit five digits no matter what, and on average you should be able to max out 4-6 perks depending on how you spend them. You are meant to kind of commit to a perk anyways since some are more of an investment than others, some are also unlocked through certain requirements. (that's why some in the video are already unlocked and at level one)
What are perks?
Well in my game they're called "gratitudes" but since that's a bit to type and say we can just call them "perks"
Their main purpose is to shake up the game and reward smart players who invest their tokens in the right upgrades. It also personalizes some games with their obviously being hundreds of combinations for what perks are upgraded to what levels.
Why?
I feel like this makes this game stand out a bit from others, while perks have started to grow in popularity in games I haven't seen a lot do it like this. Others are more like skill trees are single perks that do certain things.
I hope you all can find this mechanic fun as much as I can, enjoying each of the unique sprites meant to represent the levels. I'm most excited to see what cracked builds y'all can make from this too!
