Might be a wild turn right after a cute poem, but I'm so happy with the result! I've got some positive reactions last time, hence I thought this one should be shared too.
This piece was heavily inspired by one of my favorite groups; I always adored their mix of poetry and harshness in their lyrics, as much the topics themselves.
Writing these lines, I dwelled into the thought I have running each time I come across national TV news or online preachers of any (not necessarily religious) belief; how far had we bend the truth in our favor?
We are in danger of giving our lives for someone's desire to be the most righteous, the most faithful and sacred. Facts we encounter become a disposable matter of political or egocentric gain.
Hundreds of religions condemning to damnation for a single wrong choice, thousands of politicians deluding the last remains of truth to stay in lead, millions of people fighting one another to spread their belief.
While the poem is a sea of doom, it's my emotinal expression and call for people to consider our actions. Think of it the other way; it's abaolutely astounding for our fragile world, being held on sticks and stones, to remain the way it is. It's something I wish to cherish more, as much as making it just slightly better by not giving my biases too much control.
That being said, I challenge you to find a couple of references I hid within the lines! There are many here and there, be it symbols, nods to certain works or quotes. Good luck, if you got any interest!
I really hope you enjoy this poem, wishing you a great day!
