Q/A on the toolkit (expand)

Q: Why is it taking so long?

A: The toolkit is something that has always taken back seat to other things. I work a full time job and work on a farming sim game at the same time. Its just not something I can work on all the time.

Q: Why are there no other animatronics yet?

A: Animatronics require models, which take forever to create properly, they have to be modelled, rigged, unwrapped and textured and then animated. It's difficult to implement features into the toolkit without a working animatronic as placeholders only get you so far. So I modelled the testwolf, so I wouldn't have to stop to create animations. The others will follow in time.

Q: Are there going to be room sets based on other locations?

A: Most likely. Again it's a case of having to model these things and not having access to my modelling software for a few months now.

Q: Why not model in blender if you need a licence to use 3DS max to model?

A: 3DS max is just so well put together, on top of being what I was trained to use at university. I've made attempts at using blender before but it just isn't as flexible or to the point as max.

Q: Will the kit support custom animatronics?

A: I intend it to but there is so much to consider. Having got back 3DS max I'm looking into a mix and match type feature where you can add pieces to an animatronic to make them without modelling.

Wall height is being adjusted to accommodate things such as stages and lighting while also giving animatronics more breathing space.

Buttons ver 2- jumpscare Test

Tall walls are all modeled and intergrated into the engine and work seamlessly with the previous two wall styles. actual wall skins for this set are incoming. A new test build featuring these changes will follow up soon.

Modular stage kits are the next addition to the decor tab. Once all its skins are properly textured.

VERY early test of very basic systems in my new project. Do your work, keep the lights on, and everything will be fine. I really want to gush about some of the things not seen here, but will save that until they can be shown off. FnafKit who?

I'm currently working on a new game with a team of people. Here's a mannequin being assaulted for test purposes. Gotta do what you gotta do for your damage systems.

I know it has been a while since the last update, but life got in the way. Here we can see how buttons can be customized and given functionality through the event system. More to come as the event system grows.

Light menu is still undergoing it's refit, some behind the scenes code changes making it easier to edit multiple lights. A light will also toggle on/off depending on its intensity. So custom events don't need to be loaded with two different commands.

If you're wondering why the next build is taking so long. here is the answer.

Lightweight object recoloring test. This test is looking at coloring defined areas with as little excess data as possible and uses NO mask maps, alternate materials and does not break object batching (won't melt the PC when you have hundreds of swatches!)
