Randy's Crazy Mission!: The game about the 1983 video game crash.

Yesterday, I released the page for "Randy's Crazy Mission!", my currently in-development game. This project is... weird. It's a game that's based on the video game crash of 1983. Just check out the devlog if you're curious.

I tried to learn C# programming at the beginning of development, but I never seemed to get great at it. I want to one day recruit some professional coders to work on this game. You know, so that I can get actual progress in the programming and bug-fixing department. I've really just been doing the creative stuff, like the game's art. Also, I'm planning on switching engines, for reasons you can probably guess.

Here's the game's page:

I put a picture I took of my game into Sora AI.

He sounds like Lazlo.

When I put this mockup of my game in Sora for fun, I didn't realize it crops the image if it doesn't fit a set ratio. So it really messed up my characters in this one.

Here are some GIFs I made of glitches I came across while making my game, Randy’s Crazy Mission!

I just released a blog post sharing some little bits of stuff from the game’s development (like these GIFs).

Here's my blog post: https://jakerileygamedevblog.com/2025/09/24/randy-game-developme…

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 6 celebrates @Narwhalnut ! They program bugs (in the game Insectile)! We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: What dev habit helps you the most?

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 4 celebrates @ElPichon ! They're just a bird who likes to draw! They're also the developer behind The Bunny Graveyard II and Chunky JUMP!. We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: How Did You Learn Game Dev?

These are some unfinished bits of code from a dialogue “topics” script in my game that I use for textboxes (each line of text represents one textbox). Some of these are probably pretty weird if you don't know about my game.

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 5 celebrates @ExpoDev ! He's the founder of PMH Interactive and is working on The Obsessive Shadow and more. We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: What keeps you making games when it gets tough?

Sora AI thinks Randy's an egg and not a mushroom.
