I've come to see in recent years that a lot of people's audience has a lot of kids, and as time goes on I always see people complain about their audience being kids. Since I'm somewhat of a "big guy" in this fangame scene, I figured I'll give my take on it.
I've understood that my fanbase is mostly gonna be a young audience, am I complaining about that? No. And the main reason why, is that I don't think that's inherently a bad thing.
One thing I've kind of gathered is that if you're a kid commenting on stuff, you're always gonna get backlash from someone. This was much more apparent with Android port comments, which I made another post about back around 2018.
I don't think that's right as I mean, come on, you're making fun of a kid who probably doesn't know much better.
I might've done this back in the day around 2016, but that was 4 years ago. I've changed a lot since then, and I don't condone hating on kids. I don't think that's right especially considering that I have a bigger audience than I did back then, and doing something like that would be really irresponsible.
I've occasionally talked to some of the kids in my fanbase, and a good chunk of them are pretty good people. I think primarily it's just people generalizing the bad people to make it seem like being a kid in a fanbase is a horrible thing, no matter if they're actually good people or not.
It's a really toxic mindset, and I don't want to keep seeing this happen to so many people I respect in the community.
Let bygones be bygones, and let kids be. If they annoy you so much, why not just ignore the comments? Is it really that hard to not let comments that you don't like get to your head?
Learn to have a better tolerance level, it makes things much better in the long run. Thanks for reading
