Can give some of her backstory in a nutshell, Rose was just a normal kid, wasn't edgy or anything at all like that. Until the goverment and economy started collapsing in not confirmed time. At least this continent slowly fell into poverty and basically become another Great Depression. To make matters worse, a epidemic happened some months after things went to hell which made things more of a wasteland.

Mostly children fled from where they lived after having enough of what they went through, that includes Rose; fleeing to Mt. Ebott of course.

Partly due to the experiences she's has made her the edgy fell 'me'. Of course there's stuff that happened in the Underground but I didn't finish the lore yet.
