Episode VI: Endgame
We fade in with an anamorphic lens into a bright winter day, the sun's out and the snow looks to be melting down a bit, turning it to slush. It cycles through shots, first a family home with a melting snowman in the front yard. Next a few icicles on a tree’s branch, dripping as they melt. Next a traffic light, with a bit of snow on the top of it. Then an intersection. The camera stays on the intersection for a while. We cut to Hannah and her mother in a car, approaching the intersection.
Hannah: Mom, thanks for taking me to the movies
Mom: No problem, I’m happy to see you’re getting out again
Hannah: It’s hard when you lose someone
Mom: I know, it was hard on me too Hannah. Your brother left too soon. But think positive, and have fun, I don’t need you being depressed again
Hannah: Don’t worry I think I’m fine now
Mom: Promise?
Hannah: Promise
We cut to a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 going down the road, also towards the intersection. The truck is speeding down the road and we see a close-up of an empty bottle of whisky. We see a traffic light turn red in a close-up, then back to Hannah’s mother’s car, a Ford Focus. The car drives to the middle of the intersection. We then see the truck skidding out of control with a screech as the tires struggle to maintain grip on the icy road and it t-bones the car with a loud crash, pushing the driver side door of the car in deep. We then cut to seeing the aftermath of the crash. Squad cars and ambulances surround the intersection and the sound of sirens ring out. The car’s driver-side door is pushed in deep. The other truck’s front end seems to have sustained minimal damages. We cut to a hospital room, we’re in the perspective of Hannah, sight a bit blurry. She’s hooked up to medical equipment like an IV and a heart rate monitor. She looks down at the bloodied bandages wrapped around her arms and hands. Then the doctor walks into the room, and the name tag reads, Dr. Craven.
Dr. Craven: Hello, Hannah. You’re awake, you’ve had quite a long rest
Hannah: What do you mean?
Dr. Craven: You’ve been unconscious for 3 days
Hannah: What happened?
Dr. Craven: You were in a fatal car crash
Hannah: Fatal? But I’m alive
Dr. Craven: I’m sorry but, your mother was involved, and she… She didn’t make it
Hannah: What, no. No no no. No… No
Dr. Craven: I’m sorry for your loss, Hannah
We cut to a funeral. Snow covers the ground in a cold, white layer. The view only shows the backs of various people, the breath of each attendant, reaching up into the sky. The shot lingers for a good while. Then the attendants slowly fade leaving one person left, who drops Roses at the tombstone of Grace Rose. The person sits down in the snow, and the weather and seasons transition like a time-lapse. The person walks away and it’s Hannah, obviously. We linger on the shot again, then it fades away
And into the TITLE CARD “Endgame” with Roses on either side of the title
We fade into Valorie sitting on the roof of her single floor house with a cigarette in hand. Her phone dings and she checks for any messages and has one from Hannah reading, [come to Craven Lane 7420 at 3. we need to talk asap] Valorie checks the time and sees it’s 2:41. Valorie slides off of the roof and lands on the ground. We cut to Valorie arriving at the abandoned building. She slowly opens the door
Valorie: Hannah? Rose?..
Hannah: Hey, Val
Valorie: Hey Rose!
Valorie hugs Hannah and stops and looks around a bit
Valorie: Why are we here?
Hannah: To discuss the plan Jack told us
Valorie: What plan?
Hannah: I fucking knew it! He left you out of it
Valorie: Why would he?
Hannah: Because he thinks you’re the killer
Valorie: Or he’s the killer
Hannah: What?
Valorie: He could be the killer trying to get me off his scent
Hannah: Oh no…
Valorie: Yep
Hannah: We gotta do something
Valorie: I have a plan, Rose. Trust me
We cut to Wesley looking pretty distraught
Wesley: How does someone just go off the grid like this? He’s untraceable. No signs of any parents either
Sheriff Brackett: Find anymore info from the other kids?
Wesley: I lost connections with them, and school’s out after the teacher died
Sheriff Brackett: You didn’t find out where they live or where they hang out?
Wesley: No, you know I’m an amateur
Sheriff Brackett: You’d be the kinda guy to die to a falling coconut
Wesley: Listen, I’m trying here but it’s hard
Sheriff Brackett: Just don’t fuck up on this
Wesley: I won’t, trust me
Sheriff Brackett walks away and Wesley flops into his chair and looks at a picture on his desk. It’s his father, Sheriff Vanek. We hear the faint sound of a gunshot to give an idea of what happened to him. We cut to Gale where she was at the end of episode of V.
Gale: So I help you, and you let me live?
Ghostface: And yøu get a Killer støry. It’s a easy deal, Weathers
Gale: How would I help?
Ghostface: Døn’t wørry yøu wøn’t get yøur hands dirty. This is yøur chance, yøu’ll never gø irrelevant, and yøu’ll have a støry yøu planned øut, whenever yøu need
Gale: Ugh, fine I’m in. Keep my name øut øf everything
Ghostface: Døn’t wørry, yøu’re anønymøus. I knew yøu wøuldn’t give up a gøød støry, gøød chøice Weathers
We cut to Jennifer and Sidney. They’re at home watching the movie, Doctor Sleep
Sidney: See? This is much better than risking your life, right?
Jennifer: Well, when you put it like that-
Sidney: Just know I’m doing this to protect you, honey
Jennifer: I get it, I just hope Hannah and the other’s are ok…
Sidney: Hannah’s a tough girl, and resourceful, like me. I’m sure she’ll kick Ghostface’s ass
Jennifer: I’m still worried, mom
Sidney: Trust me, Jen. She’ll make it. She’s got Final Girl energy and Randy said the Final Girl never dies. Randy’s been right every time so far. She’ll win
Jennifer: If you say so…
Jennifer has an unsure tone in her voice and she wriggles in her spot, as if she’s uncomfortable at the thoughts going through her head. We cut to the abandoned building and Hannah and Valorie are sitting on a set of stairs
Hannah: How can we be sure he’s the killer though?
Valorie: Well a little birdy told me that the police recently found out that there’s no one in Woodsboro registered as “Jack Blair” and if you ask me the name sounds fake. I mean it’s like a mix of Jack Nicholson and The Blair Witch
Hannah: Jack’s not his real name?
Valorie: It seems that way alright
Hannah: So what's our plan?
Valorie: Only I’ll know the plan, just go through with “Jack’s” plan. You’ll understand once you see it
We cut to later that night, still inside the building. Jack and Charlie walk in
Charlie: Hey, Hannah
Hannah: Hey guys
Jack: You guys ready?
Charlie: Definitely, let’s kill this fuckface
Jack: Ok, Charlie, you posted saying you’d be here?
Charlie: Yeah
Jack: Alright, he’ll most likely be here soon, get in position
Jack goes upstairs as Charlie and Hannah start talking to each other out in the open
Charlie: I can’t wait to put this psycho in his place
Hannah: You and me both, Charlie. You and me both
Charlie: So why do you think he’s doing it this time?
Hannah: Fame, peer pressure, revenge, the list goes on and on. Maybe they didn’t like the latest Stab or something
Charlie: Yeah, Wonder how long it’ll ta-
Almost as if it’s timed, Ghostface busts the door down. They look at Charlie and Hannah and take the mask off. It’s Gale Weathers
Hannah: Ga-
Gale: Shhh
Charlie (whispering): What’s going on?
Gale: (whispering): Ghostface offered me the choice to help him, I said yes. It’s too easy to flip the tables on this guy-
We hear Jack’s Screams from upstairs and blood seeps from the ceiling where Jack was, and then Gale remasks herself as another Ghostface walks down the stairs. Gale grabs Charlie and puts a knife to his throat
Gale Ghostface: Isn’t this fun?
Ghostface: Øh it sure is. Yøur little trap seems tø be disarmed, literally
Hannah: You piece of shit
Ghostface: Save it, Hannah. It’s nøt yøur turn yet
Ghostface pulls out Gale’s Ruger SR9c and shoots Hannah in the leg and she Screams. Ghostface then turns to Charlie
Ghostface: Øh Charlie, I knøw høw much yøu must miss yøur møther
Charlie: Don’t you dare talk about her
Ghostface: I sure hit a nerve didn’t I? I’ll make sure tø hit a few møre beføre I let yøu see yøur møther again
Ghostface approaches Charlie and Gale and he stabs Charlie in the arm and he Screams. Then Ghostface stabs Gale behind Charlie
Gale Ghostface: Ow! Why-
Ghostface: I’m nøt an idiøt, Gale. I’m nøt just gøing tø have yøu wørk with me, that’d be suicide
Ghostface shoots Charlie in the stomach, and it goes through into Gale. They both Scream and Gale slowly loses consciousness. Ghostface turns to Hannah
Ghostface: Sø, Hannah. Yøu wanna knøw why I did this døn’t yøu?
Hannah: That’d be ideal
Ghostface: I døn’t knøw, maybe I have nø motive. As Billy said, it’s scarier when there’s nø motive
Hannah: That’s complete bullshit!
Ghostface: Fine, maybe it’s because yøu’re a selfish little bitch that can’t get øver anything, sømeøne whø can’t understand the cøncept øf living in the present, yøu’re sømeøne whø used her dead møther støry as an excuse før everything. Yøu’re a hack. Yøu expløit peøple’s feelings with yøur misførtune, just tø get a little empathy that yøu døn’t deserve. Hannah, yøu’re my møtive før this. Yøu’re why I did this. The previøus plan invølved yøu living, and being framed. But maybe, yøu’d hack yøur way øut øf that tøø. Sø we settled øn killing yøu. That sums it up pretty well, døn’t yøu think?
Hannah: But who the fuck are you?
Ghostface removes the mask and it’s Jack, shocker
Jack: Nøw, yøu knøw me as “Jack Blair” but that’s nøt me. My name’s Ethan Kirsch. Remember The Wøødsbørø Killings Øf 2022? Øne øf the killers was Richie Kirsch, my brøther. Bang! Pløt twist! Bet ya didn’t see that øne coming, did yøu nøw?
Hannah: You sicko
Ethan: Thanks
Ethan walks over a bit to where Charlie is
Charlie: What’re you doing?
Ethan: Yøu’ll see. And may I say, yøu fell perfectly. But I knøw yøu’re a little høt headed right nøw, sø I’ll fight fire with fire
Ethan pulls a string and a bucket of gasoline falls and spills all over Charlie. Ethan lights a match and looks down at Charlie and waves at him and drops the match onto Charlie. Charlie is immediately engulfed in flames and he Screams as he’s roasted to death
Hannah: You really are addicted to Home Alone
Ethan: Shut the fuck up, Hannah
Another Ghostface walks in
Ethan: Marcus, yøu’re late. I almøst had tø dø it all aløne. Yøu take care øf that bitch, Valørie?
The Ghostface nods and looks at Hannah and pulls out a Buck 120. And walks to where Ethan is, still looking at Hannah
Ethan: Gø ahead, I’ll let yøu kill her
The Ghostface turns and kicks Ethan’s knees in making him fall to the ground. Ethan quickly attempts to grab Gale’s gun but the Ghostface stomps his wrist with a low crunching sound and Ethan Screams. Ghostface kicks the gun away and looks down at Ethan, who quickly grabs his knife and stabs Ghostface in the leg. But in reaction Ghostface kicks him in the head, and he passes out and it cuts to black. The screen slowly fades back in and Ethan lays on the ground with everyone else, but Charlie gone. He hears a phone vibrate next to him and he answers it
Ghostface: Hellø, Jack. Having fun?
Ethan: Øh, when I find yøu-
Ghostface: Yøu’ll wish yøu didn’t. Yøu’ll wish yøu never fucked with us. Yøu’ll regret everything
Ethan: I døubt that
Ghostface: But I døn’t, I’m gønna slit yøur gøddamn eyelids øpen sø yøu døn’t blink as I carve yøu up like a fucking pumpkin
Ethan: Øh really? So what are yøu gonna dø? There’s no cløset for yøu to pøp out øf in a Ghostface cøstume is there? You’re nø Sidney and you’re nø survivor either
Ghostface: We’ll see, real søøn
Ethan: What’re yøu waiting for, yøu coward? Cøme and get me!
Ghostface: My pleasure… (voice changer deactivates and there’s silence)
Valorie (right behind Ethan): …Ethan
A knife quickly slices Ethan’s eyelid as promised and then he gets spun around to face Ghostface and she stabs him three times in the chest and twice in the stomach. She then pulls out Gale’s gun and pistol whips him in the rib cage with more cracks before putting it to his jaw and shooting his jaw off. She then pushes him to the ground and pulls out a second knife and stabs his hands into the floorboards and gets up. She stomps his stomach and then she grabs his legs and pulls him until his hands give out, ripping them through the knives. She rips out one of the knives and then pulls him up to her and pulls off her mask and stares into Ethan’s eyes
Valorie: Remember my face, Ethan
She turns him onto his back and plunges a knife into his spine, paralyzing him and then she flips him back over and takes the other knife out of the floor and goes to town on his face until he’s savaged beyond recognition
Valorie: Nø øne will remember yøurs
Valorie breathes heavily and looks at the bloody, messy, savaged corpse of Ethan
Valorie (under her breath): Remember my face
Hannah: Val… Holy shit
Valorie: He had it coming
Hannah: I guess but… damn
Valorie: Let’s get Gale some medical attention
Hannah: Agreed
Wesley busts into the building
Wesley: Hands up!
Hannah: We already got him, Wes, Ghostface is gone
Wesley: Oh… Holy shit, you fucked him up good
We fade into the TITLE CARD “Endgame” with Roses on either side again
