Shadow Touched - Version 0.8.0


  • Implemented "Dash" mechanic:

    • A dash can be performed when the player is either moving right or left, is in the air, and presses and holds X.

    • A dash lasts for a maximum of 0.7 seconds.

    • Releasing the Dash button before it reaches the maximum duration will interrupt the Dash immediately.

    • The player can only dash once, and it resets every time the player stands on a platform.

    • A Dash can only be made in the normal dimension.

  • Increased animation speed of the attack animation in the normal dimension by 15%.

  • The duration to stay in the Shadow dimension is no longer a random number between 8.25 and 10.25, but rather a fixed 9 seconds.

  • Standardized the hitbox of spikes to be the same as every other spike.

  • Removed BGM intro to loop-able part since it was causing a weird audio-gap between the two.

  • Hitbox of power-ups increased by 11.54%.

  • Power-ups now respawn after 3.5 seconds.

  • Power-ups now actually have names.

    • Double Jump: Allows Twilight to jump an additional time.

    • Light Shard: Grants a 1-up.

    • Darkness Dispersal: Removes a percentage of darkness. The higher the current darkness, the more it removes.

    • Jump Impulse: Shoots Twilight vertically.

    • Speed Boost: Grants increased movement speed for a short duration.

    • Dashify (next update): Allows Twilight to dash an additional time (has no effect in shadow form).

  • Darkness Dispersal amount removed increased from 38% to 40%.

  • Changed the icon of Jump Impulse.

Hey! Took a break for work and studies, but I developed up a project called "dark" for an exam.

The project itself is finished for the exam, but got kinda attached. I'll probably keep tinkering with it. It's named "Shadow Touched".

Made some great progress today! Enemies can apply debuffs to the player or they can buff their allies!

Also, the player can now see their current buff and debuff under their character's feet.

Nestronomus Alpha 0.8.14 will bring more quality of life changes!
