I did this on MS Paint 3D, and make use of the image transparency to create the silhouette, the flame that covers the silhouette, the snakes in the thumbnail, and Akira Akagi Games' logo.
Also put in the revamped logo of the Sanctum Puella Mari series, along with Daimonic Affright's logo.
Drawing an anime-styled character on computer is quite complex to me, since I haven't got any experience on drawing large artworks on computer (but if I draw them by hand, it is easier since the papers' large size). I usually ended up with an awkward "big-headed" character with unusual eyes, but I'm still trying to improve my computer-drawn art over time, albeit they differ greatly from the original hand-drawn art.
Generally, I prefer to do large art pieces with many details (like that of characters) by hand, since I know many games made with RPG Maker that implements hand-drawn art (or at least computer-generated art that resembles hand-drawn ones) such as Nepenthe and OMORI, and their art style, while not resembling actual anime, is stunning, and I have been known to draw a lot of things on paper and the result is amazing (even at one point I created fan-made parody characters for games like Dragon City and Monster Legends, and add fake store sections for them by drawing them on paper). Despite that when I started to draw when I'm very young, I drew a lot of unmeaningful shapes with very vague meanings (and sometimes outright to be funny), now I can draw art that strongly resembles anime / manga characters, and know about many techniques in art such as shading, which gives depth to my art.
Anyway, I might begin doing the new header graphic tomorrow, and I plan to put Mari and Aya in the header, as with my "tradition" on making the header for this game: Putting the main protagonist (s) on it.
