I honestly think old people should be off the road. I understand if you are alone or way to stubborn, but its a very big danger to everyone on the road. If you can barely walk, hear, or see and need the use for aids, you shouldn't be driving on the road. Even if you have a care taker there and the old person is stubborn they shouldn't drive.
I live in a retirement town pretty much and like 89% of the population here is old folks. I use to work for an old folks home. I do love the elderly but they don't need to be doing dangerous things like that.
I feel scared every time my dad goes out for errands. He still drives and relies on hearing aids and a walker, yet he likes to drive everyday to the downtown music store. Thats fine, but he should let me drive him there. How slow he drives, he always puts it in park at stop lights and signs. Uses his turn signal right when hes turning. Last second he turns it on. I've tried to stop him and all, but he calls the cops on me for me helping him with anything. I once moved a lamp like 10in and he flipped out on me, hit me, called the cops and told them i was hitting him, I have a video that says otherwise.
Anyways, old people need love and attention to, but should not be getting it from driving around endangering others and themselves.
