A furry is a person who's interested in anthropomorphic animal characters and (usually) decides to create their own character (one or maybe a lot more) by representing them in any methods (mostly drawing). In some cases, after creating these anthro characters (mostly called fursonas), people decide to turn their fursonas into "reality" by making or commissioning their own suits (these are called fursuits) based off of their characters. They may also get more than one fursuit.

The interest for these kind of characters may come from movies, cartoons, the internet, drawing or simply liking animals.

Then there's the furry community, which unites lots of people with these kind of interests or hobbies. Although a lot of its members know how to draw, there's also a big amount of people that don't, but the ones who do know can inspire the ones who don't to learn to draw.

A big part of the community is LGBTQ+, although not everyone, but they're welcoming as they're. Its members can be almost any ages, but they're usually between 12 (usually called young-furs) to 35+ years old.

Sadly, the furry community receives a lot of hate from a huge amount of people because of what they do (mostly blameless). It's true that there's a strange side in the fandom, a lot of people there consume lewd content and related stuff, but a lot of fandoms have that strange side too, and these people have actually got lives too.

In the end, what's important is that you will always be welcome in this community, as usual, by everyone.
