hello everyone. it's paul here
so I've started using godot earlier this month, even though I had it on my computer since last year. and after following several tutorials on youtube I made this little thing. it's supposed to be the framework for a new project; though I have made very minimal progress on it so far.
I've managed to get sonic to move; he can jump, just not spin attack WHILE jumping. he also can't roll or skid yet, and I haven't implemented any slope physics as you can see him bouncing a bit as he goes down both sides of the hill, but I will work on that. he's also not going to have that blue background in any future videos I make on this framework so don't worry about that! (I was too lazy with removing the background on the sprites tbh)
I have been following a bit of the sonic retro physics guide, even though I am trying to make this framework in the style of the 8-bit games and not the 16-bit ones judging by the sprites used here. if there's someone out there who is more experienced with godot than I am, feel free to let me know!
that's all for now. I uploaded this video onto youtube because I haven't uploaded anything and january's almost over.
