Okay, to start off, I am a HUGE fan of the Sonic series, much like some other people you've probably seen, I'm more into Modern sonic titles, but Classic ones are good too don't get me wrong. i've played my fair share of classic sonic rom hacks and modifications. they're all good and fun.

although, none of those can compare to this one really weird experience i had.

It all started a few days back, i was playing Sonic unleashed on my PS2 (Man do i wish i had the PS3 version instead...) when i noticed that outside of my apartment, a delivery was left on my porch. it was a package from my friend Kyle! I haven't seen Him in a long time.

it had a note on it from him also.

"Tom. this game is like, really weirding me out, something about it is just wrong, i'm not sure how to explain it, i'd suggest you check it out yourself

Love, Kyle"

Man, sometimes i wish he'd not do the whole "Love, Kyle" thing, its kind of annoying man.

Anyways

I looked at the disc and it looks like any ordinary computer CD-R disc, except it had black marker on it written “SONIC GAME”,

and it wasn't like Kyle’s handwriting, meaning that he must’ve gotten it from someone else, like on eBay.

When I saw “SONIC” on the writing of the CD, I was actually excited and wanted to play it, since I’m into Sonic of course.

so i stuck it into the CD slot on my computer and booted it up.

an Icon appeared with the name "SONIC GAME.EXE" On it.

what kind of game is just called "SONIC GAME" Anyways??

so i started the file up and the classic Original sonic title screen appeared. I'll admit i was kind of appalled by this, i mean, i do remember this game not being called "SONIC GAME" but sure whatever i guess it also works.

i do remember one weird factor though, when i pressed start,

there was a flash of an image on screen showing Sonic.

but he had pitch black eyes with red pupils, and was bleeding from his eyes.

i could be wrong, but i believe the background was either made of blood or was just static.

it was kind of hard to tell with how quickly it passed by.

Must have been Kyle's doing. he always was the one to play tricks on me.

After that nonsense occurred, a Character select screen appeared of all things, Kind of weird considering the original sonic game never had a select screen.

but i guess this isn't the original game. so i shrugged it off.

there were three characters to select from, Tails, Knuckles and for some god forsaken reason, Eggman!

yeah, the guy sonic hates and has sworn to defeat, can be played to.

I wanted to play as Knuckles, but Him and Eggman were locked.

So i had to choose tails.

Afterwards, A Laugh could be heard booming across the screen, i can't pinpoint where i've heard it before, but it sounded somewhat familiar.

After the laugh ended, The first level began.

Tails was in green Hill zone. except, the name was slightly altered to read "Hill Zone", kind of weird but with everything else thats occurred, i wasn't too surprised.

so i made tails push forward, except he was kind of slow, and he couldn't fly either. why the hell couldn't whoever have made this make tails fly??

So anyways, after walking for a while, suddenly, a bunch of dead animals appeared everywhere. they were hanging from trees, lying on the ground in blood, and one even had its organs exposed.

it was really disgusting to be honest, but i still moved forward, as i've played my fair share of horror games. so this wasn't anything new for me.

as Tails walked through the mess, he suddenly came up to what appeared to be sonic. who was standing with his head down like he was waiting for tails to come up to him.

Tails began to shake looking like he didn't know what to do and i'll admit i didn't know what would happen next myself.

Suddenly tails ran to the left and began running into the side not being able to move any further.

so i pushed tails to the right using the arrow keys and he approached sonic. who suddenly lifted his head up, revealing what looked like that Sonic from the title screen.

black eyes and all.

Suddenly the screen cut out and text appeared on screen.

"Do YOu waNt to PLaY witH Me?"

Kind of took back by this, i continued onto the next level.

it was simply called "Hide and Seek"

what an odd name i thought to myself. suddenly tails was in angel island zone act 1, specifically the part where the island is on fire.

Tails began to walk foward while looking at me from time to time, almost like he knew what was going to happen next.

after walking for awhile, tails bumped into Sonic again.

Except, this time he looked different AGAIN, his body fur was a much dark shade of blue, his gloves were red, and His face was wider for some reason, and Had a wide smile across his face.

Suddenly text appeared on screen:

"Hello my New friend! would you like to play a game with me?"

Again? i thought it was kind of weird. and tails too looked kind of taken back by this.

Suddenly tails began walking to left and suddenly began sprinting in a panic.

The screen began to flicker and suddenly the darker version of sonic began running towards tails, when suddenly ANOTHER version of sonic came flying into tails, both Sonic's smashing into tails sending them both flying backwards, with tails falling to the ground in shock.

The first sonic got up onto his feet

"HeY!" The first sonic yelled.

"THaTS mY FOx!"

Suddenly the darker sonic got up.

"NO WAY, I SAW HIM FIRST!"

"YoU liaR!"

"TAKE THAT BACK!"

"MaKE ME!"

suddenly, next thing i knew, both sonic's ran into tails and began tugging on his arms, pulling him from side to side, screaming "MINE" over and over again.

I just watched in confusion as both Sonic's fought over the fox.

Suddenly tails flung into the air. with Both Sonic's just looking up in shock.

I was kind of shocked by this also.

suddenly both sonic's looked directly at me, and the screen went black.

Suddenly, i was back on the title screen, although tails' slot was completely gone. with Knuckles being next in line. i had nothing better to do so i chose knuckles.

Suddenly, a different laugh was heard, a much more witch-like laugh.

The level began and Knuckles was in Scrap brain zone, except the ground was covered in blood, and the sky was foggy.

as Knuckles trailed down, lightning shot down multiple times, and Knuckles looked scared out of his mind. I didn't really see why, but i guess if i were in this situation i probably would be too.

so as i continued, the screen began to get darker, with knuckles looking even more scared than before.

suddenly, out of nowhere, text appeared again

"HA! I FOUND YOU FRIEND!"

suddenly, a frightful version of the drowning theme played as knuckles was forced to try and punch what looked to be the darker version of Sonic.

as he continued to try and punch this sonic, he would constantly end up in a different spot, taunting knuckles.

eventually, right as knuckles was about to land a hit on him, The first sonic appeared, kicked knuckles out of the way, and Landed a punch on the darker sonic.

It knocked the darker sonic onto the ground.

Suddenly, the first sonic walked up to him and began taunting the hedgehog.

"HOw DOeS IT FeEl? HOw DOES iT FeEL TO HAvE YoUR GaME RUINeD HUH?? NOT VeRY NicE RIGHT??"

suddenly, the darker sonic got up and hit the first sonic in the face, knocking what looked to be a few teeth out of his mouth.

"SHUT UP TWERP, I'LL SKIN YOU FOR THAT" the darker sonic shouted, as they both began to pummel each other.

suddenly, Knuckles got up, looked at Me, and ran off to the left.

Suddenly, both Sonic's stopped, looked over and shouted at Knuckles.

they than looked at each other aggressively, and continued to attack each other, saying things like "ITS YOUR FAULT"

the screen turned black again, and i was back on the title screen.

only one character was left available to choose from.

after pressing start, no laugh was heard this time

the last level began.

it was simply titled "..." and featured Eggman in a hallway of sorts. with opened curtains on the side.

the level itself featured graphics not seen in the original sonic game.

Eggman began to walk down the stairs. it took quite awhile, but the level began to get darker.

with the flames becoming blue and the background becoming black.

after reaching the bottom, Eggman encountered both Sonic's, who were of course, fighting with each other over who got to kill Eggman.

Suddenly, one of the sonic's knocked the other into the ceiling, causing all of the Dupree to fall onto eggman. ultimately killing him in the process.

Both sonic's looked over at the mess, and than at me, and than back at each other.

of course once again, both Sonic's blamed each other for this and began to attack each other some more.

i didn't know what to do now, it just kept going like this. so i decided to just, take the disk out, and threw it away.

I'll admit, i've never seen anything like that before. i kinda think its funny, but at the same time, kyle was definitely right about this game being wrong.

if anyone here knows what this was all about, i would really appreciate some answers.
