It has been a little while since I released any significant news for Soul Tender. Being a game I work on in my spare time, the amount of effort I commit to the project is limited, however I am pleased to be able to update you with a new demo build of the game.
First off, a number of bugs have been corrected since my last version, so expect more stability. Unfortunately, a number of new bugs have also appeared, many of which I haven’t gotten too yet, and probably a ton that I didn’t know existed. As a side note to anyone trying out the new build, I would advise against playing in fullscreen, at least for now, as I there is no way to exit out of fullscreen/the program once in game, and there are also some lingering issues with rendering a couple of HUD elements.

As you can see up above, a number of graphical details have been updated, and some of the older areas have a little more polish than the previous version of the demo build had. I am still not happy with many of the existing sprites and effects, and they will need to be touched up or replaced in future builds.
I have also finally implemented music and additional sound effects to the game, and am currently using some tracks I found online (with a permissive lisence) that were made by one Eric Taylor. They fit the game nicely.

The most significant change however is the the implementation of the first dungeon area, and boss fight. The demo now includes a modest size dungeon area, with multiple puzzles, making use of a ‘cabling’ mechanic I spoke about in a previous news update.
I hope some of you will take the time to try the new build of the game.
Thanks so much reading - Troy
