" My Pride Story "

✖️ TW. Transphobia + Gender Dysphoria

My Pride Story:

As of writing this, I have no clue what I am / what I identify as but during 2024 and before, I had always struggled with Gender Dysphoria. I grew up without a femine figure, I grew up with brothers not sisters so I always felt "left out" for being the "only female" in my household.

I did get into femine activities and had some toys but I never felt like a female (Like I was in the wrong body. I would have dreams about this too). Then I felt even weirder when I found out that I found other girls pretty. I thought same sex couples were illegal. I didn't know what pride / LGBTQ was at the time.

Being chronically online trying to make friends and share my work, I eventually grew afraid of the (digital) world (so much SA happened) and so to protect myself from (bad) men online I went by "he/him" to scare away creeps. I accidentally grew attached to "he/him" pronouns... It felt great...

During 2022 - 2023 was when I really wanted to cut my hair short and wear button ups, ties and slacks. The issue was that the people in my life didn't like the idea of me wanting to "change". My friends relentlessly picked on me and my co-workers (Discord Server Co-Mods) shamed me, constantly reminding me of my curves / assigned sex. I believed that I was mentally ill for wanting to transition. That I needed to "wake up".

2024 was when I got my first button up shirt, my first tie and pair of slackies. I couldn't really hide my curves but I felt so happy wearing something that felt more like me. Everyone else was immediately against it and in came more bullying and "you're just delusional". My last straw was when an entire Discord server (filled with friends and trusted individuals) started server drama about me wearing "innappropriate clothes" and being "innappropriate". (Something else about being sexist)?

Though I don't wear masculine clothes as much as I used to (and as much as I hoped). I've been trying to make myself more comfortable in my own skin to avoid trouble. (So Genderfluid maybe)??? However, for the sake of avoiding creeps on the internet, I'm going to keep he/him pronouns.......

Please don't let anyone else tell you who you're supposed to be because they aren't you. LIVE HAPPY, BE WHAT YOU WANT TO BE. I regret letting these people hurt me (continue to hurt me) and make me feel insecure about something that was meant to be important and I couldn't protect it.
