(This is an update to the following article: https://gamejolt.com/p/subjective-list-fnaf-world-fan-game-recommendations-my-personal-ssyj59zj)
A new FNaF World fan game dropped out of the blue a short while ago and I finally had the chance to play it!
Welcome to a plussed version of the Demo of FNaF World! Here, every character is unlockable, every barrier removed, the turtle got added back to the fishing mini-game, dialogues can be skipped... let's be real here, this is exactly the Demo but if it was a full game.
This is its objective, and it achieves this beautifully! So of course, this game should go in Highly Recommended!

Something is not right
Welcome to a game that is putting me in a really difficult spot. This is making me question my criteria of recommending games or not.
Let's put it this way. Suppose you had a game which was completely based on grinding materials. A lot. Would it be a valid critique to not recommend the game because it's too grindy?
So, let me actually explain my problem with the game. The Demo of FNaF World is very clunky. By that, I mean the 2D original graphics are bad both because they restrict the screen and at the same time do not allow diagonal movement. Now, look, they're very unique and certainly higher effort than the 3D counterpart in some aspects (for instance, the prospective of characters in the Overworld isn't just a badly formulated opinion). It's a style it pulls off in some ways.
But the style is not enough to save it. The party creations is so much slower and at the same time moving is so much more unsatisfying... so in the end, no, this is worse than FNaF World.
But that's the point. This is the Demo of FNaF World, enhanced. The modifications made from the dev are not his own, they are simply characteristics of the Demo.
Comparing this plussed version of the game to the Demo, this is better and what is new is appreciated. It's not a heavy modification, it's more like a "what if?" situation.
So what should I rate this? Highly Recommended because it pulls off its objective perfectly? Not Recommended because I didn't enjoy it as much as FNaF World or in levels comparable to that? That, my friends, is the question.
Because if I did put this in Not Recommended, I would be criticizing the concept of the game and not its execution. If I put this in Highly Recommended, then I would be ignoring the execution Scott made with the Demo. So, essentially, the dev did a wonderful job at enhancing the Demo, but the Demo is bad in and of itself.
This is not supposed to be a fan game of FNaF World, but it's a fan game of its Demo. So when I am recommending this game to you, should I compare it to the Demo or to the game?
And I thought.
And I pondered for a while.

My final opinion
When I recommend something, it's because I enjoyed it to some degree, to some aspect. This is not something I enjoyed, because it stayed true to the Demo.
If the game didn't stay true to the Demo, you would find me criticizing probably the fact that it's not really based on the Demo but it's just FNaF World. Because that's what it is at the end of the day.
So... I thought about it, and I think it's best to put this in Not Recommended.
The concept is interesting, but no matter the execution, the Demo has, in its original build, one too many flaws to actually be the enjoyable RPG game we know and love today. The moments where you need to stop are annoying and, at the end of the day, I'd rather just play the original, which is the deciding factor of this review. I'm sorry it's in Not Recommended, because the execution is perfect, but I'm not a fan of the concept.

So... what do you think? Do you agree or disagree with this thought process? I'd love to know!
