Such a friendly face and an upbeat drum solo, this mascot must get along with everyone, right? Well... Not quite everyone.

Bio below. v

Jammin' Jemima

Joined Game Jolt: 2014

Hobbies: Improvised jam sessions

Dislikes: Major Jolt

Bio: Just about the most happy-go-lucky personality you can expect to meet for the next lifetime, Jemima is up, fun, and has a great sense of rhythm. Jemima feels strongly about everyone having a bit of musical genius hidden within them, and she encourages all to discover their inner Mozart with weekly jam sessions. However, that said, there is one exception to all of this... The truth is, Jammin' Jemima absolutely can't stand Major Jolt. Although she welcomes newcomers to join, she abhors his violent recruitment tactics and believes him to be completely devoid of both music and soul. Consequently, Major Jolt is the only individual in the universe not to be included in Jemima's get-togethers. If you happen to be planning a party or wedding, Jammin' Jemima and her portable hover drums are available for hire!

Author's notes:

When @CROS and I were discussing the creation of a new mascot for the jam system, we were struggling with ideas of what exactly the mascot should be... As you can see, we pretty much just let alternate meanings of the word "jam" dictate the final character design. At the time, I really didn't think the concept of a jar of jam who likes to jam on her drums made for an interesting and likable mascot, but in the end, I'm glad we went with this direction, because... I mean, just look at her. She's so cute and friendly! She has exactly the kind of inviting energy we enjoy from game development jams. Keep on jammin', Jemima!

#GJAsks My fave enemy design in a game? I like a lot of them, but I'm quite fond of Bumpties from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Here's a little doodle of a silly flying Bumpty.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone.

This isn't really much to look at, but figured I'd post anyway, because why not. LOL I was just doing some mograph experiments with heavy distortion. Blender + Krita.

Process of one of my Pikachu drawings. This is a perfect example of when I start losing myself in art land, but suddenly snap back to basics when I realize "Oh right, I have no time!" You'll see what I mean.

Happy Video Game Day!

July 8 is Video Game Day, a holiday that's obviously close to our hearts at Game Jolt.

Celebrate by completing our quests! They won't be around long, so get the rewards while you can.

@ryon is a Jolter to Watch, game dev, programmer, and artist who worked on Five Nights at Friedrich's! Follow @ryon before the quest ends on July 15 and you'll get Coins!

I finished my permadeath run in No Man's Sky and got the To Live Forever achievement! Apparently only 0.8% of NMS players on Steam have that achievement...

It'll be nice going back to all the conveniences of my main save file again.

Got 'em all, yay!

By the way, @StuntmAEn_Bob made a community specifically for 1-bit art. Would be awesome to see more activity there.

Happy #WIPWednesday! Are you working on a game? Making some art? Practicing a song? Something else? Tell us in the comments!

Snagged a moment to play through the demo of Aim! Kirby's Spring Shot by @THE_INFINIVERSUM last weekend. Wanted to play it as soon as I saw it. Had fun!

This was version 2.0.1—new content has been added since.
