Hello, everyone. Yep, I'm still alive, contrary to popular belief. I've simply been hard at work on a couple things, though they haven't directly been in correlation to Goofy Silly Encounters, I'm afraid. It's not to say that the game won't be getting worked on or that I've been doing nothing. That isn't true, I've mostly been focusing my efforts lately on Crossover Night and another project that I should actually be releasing pretty soon! I'll likely make a GameJolt page for it for convenience sake, but expect a release within this week! Not entirely sure when, since I want to promote it a little before it gets published.
Anyhow, onto the actual devlog stuff:
Let's start off with a true reveal: I've updated the logo for Crossover Night to give it a much cleaner and appealing look, whilst still maintaining the structure of the old logo, because, in my opinion, the old logo still ain't half bad. But this is probably small potatoes, so let's get into some of the real stuff;
I've been mostly reworking programming and updating visuals for Crossover Night. Though it's not the most thrilling, I'm willing to showcase a few of the new renders for the full game that I have created! Just know that these are just a few out of many, so hopefully this will give you all a good taste of what is to come!
Since the game is getting a complete visual overhaul, I figured these would be a nice little teaser for what is to come. I will try to be hard at work on this game, and hopefully get back into production on Goofy Silly Encounters as well in the near future!
Alright, now it's time for me to reveal the special project that I've been dancing around throughout this devlog. A demo of it will be releasing this week, and I hope that you guys will look forward to it! It is certainly different, but it is something that I've always secretly wanted to do for a while. So, with that in mind, I present to you all;
Yep, that's right. A PvZ 2 mod. I'm sure that it probably wasn't what you were expecting, but the idea of me making a PvZ 2 mod has been in the back of my mind for a couple of years, actually. The thing is simply that I was never able to figure out how to properly modify the game until recently. The start of this year in fact, just before the end of January, so I've been working diligently and have fully completed a demo of my own Plants vs. Zombies 2 mod.
So this is PvZ 2: Ultimatum (or just Ultimatum, for short), a reimagining of Plants vs. Zombies 2 that removes all microtransactions from the game, features a completely reworked map and story, and reworked plants and zombies as well! But the main point of interest for this mod is its difficulty, being much harder than the original PvZ 2, and with the (somewhat obvious) removal of leveling, the game will require players to act quickly and think on their toes to bypass some stages, and especially get through some of the secret courses of the mod...
But of course, it would be all talk but no show if I didn't show off screenshots of this mod, so here's some images of what to expect;
Now, keep in mind; this is merely a demo. While much has already been done of this mod, everything is prone to change, and much of the mod is NOT final. So if anyone can offer some criticism for it, just with all of my other projects, I'd sincerely appreciate that!
In any case, though, I sincerely hope that you guys enjoyed this devlog, and that it gives you all a taste of what's to come. Anyhow, see you all later!
