Past: 

Morriette lived a good childhood. She had rich parents who enrolled her in an advanced magic school at age thirteen. There, she found not only an interest in necromancing and monsters, she also found a passion for writing. She also developed a hatred for ember (fire) magic, because not only did she have an existing fear of fire in general, but ember magic is also very strong against necromancers, turning all her undead creations into ash. Well, that, and the fact that ember magic users are famously arrogant and downright rude.
