The Perfect Update is here.


Perfection calls.

Sorry you all had to wait so long for this, but I finally can present to you all something that has been in the works for over a year now.

While The Perfect Run remains as an idea for a future game, I did promise I would make it up to you all somehow, and this is how I intend to make up that promise. Finally, at long last, I introduce to you:

PERFECT MODE

PERFECT MODE is the intended replacement for what used to be The Perfect Run. Instead of being a singular mode however, it is now a modifier much like Hyper Mode is. Unlike Hyper Mode, PERFECT MODE introduces far more substantial changes to the gameplay, to the point that it might as well be a whole new game.

By this point, I've been hyping up this mode for quite a long time now, and today I intend to finally answer the most important question:

What is PERFECT MODE?

As stated prior, PERFECT MODE is a complete reworking of the games mechanics and characters to play completely differently from the base game. This isn't just "make the characters faster," for while 'Hyper Mode' is the base speed for most the cast, the changes introduced are much much more intense.

While PERFECT MODE is active, all other Night Modifiers are disabled for balancing purposes. No All Challenges mode this time.

There's a lot to cover, so I'm actually going to get started by introducing the brand new mechanics and functionalities the mode has. To get started, here's what the night looks like when you boot in:

Right off the bat, you may notice that the HUD looks quite a bit different. This isn't just an aesthetic change, because now the power works very different. Instead of a usage meter that drains power the more things are used, doors now have an overheating mechanic where if they are used for too long, they will fail and cannot be used for a set period of time. Doors failing will also drain your power, which acts more like a health bar now. If the power fails, well...you know what happens next. And don't expect to be saved by 6 AM, you lose no matter how close you are.

Doors will regenerate power over time if they are open, albeit somewhat slowly, so you better know when to use those doors. HOWEVER, there is another way to regenerate door power. If a characters bonks or knocks at your door, power is regenerated to that door. It's now all about timing the characters attack to not loose too much power, or potentially letting the door fail and allowing undesirable things into your room.

Doors aren't the only thing that drains your rooms power. Other things that drain the power include:

  • The Camera: Usage of the camera will slowly drain your room power since its still plugged into the main generator. It's decently forgiving don't worry, but I'd recommend using it wisely for...other reasons.

  • Random Controlled Shocks: If you shock a room with no shockable characters in it, a substantial amount of power is taken from you. Use your shocks wisely.

  • Certain Characters: Some threats will instead choose to attack your generator. Be sure to deal with these threats fast, or else.

There's quite a bit more to show, and that includes what changes are being introduced to the 18 characters. For that, I instead intend to reveal over time every characters mechanic (likely one a day) as a teaser, much like how I revealed the new characters all the way before the release of 1.0. Stay tuned for that, some of these changes are so much fun. :)

Finally, there is one more major thing to discuss for now. As hinted in the trailer, Perfect Cacophony has been renamed to Hyper Golden Freddy All Challenges. This has been done since a common issue with the mode was it wasn't that different from Hyper Golden Freddy. In other words, the mode was simply not worthy of its title.

So, where has Perfect Cacophony gone?

And while everything I will be showing over time is quite insane, nothing compares to what is planned for the upcoming PERFECT CACOPHONY. This mode specifically will have its own changes even compared to PERFECT MODE, and to be perfectly blunt, it's looking to be one of the most insane challenges in all of FNAF.

For those not wanting to completely ruin their day, and week...and month...maybe a year trying to do that mode, there will be a variant that does not have the PC specific buffs and is just Perfect 18/20.

So after v1.2, here's the modes that will exist for this game.

  • Super Golden Freddy

  • Hyper Golden Freddy

  • Hyper Golden Freddy All Challenges

  • Perfect Golden Freddy

  • and finally PERFECT CACOPHONY

That's a lot of SL modes (probably too many at this point). Hence is why there will be no other modes for this game after this. When I say v1.2 is the definitive update, I truly mean it. This will be a final send off to a game that helped me improve and learn a lot about games and how they work. I want to thank you all for the support that you all give me, I say it a lot but I guess it just goes to show how much all of this means to me (even though its just a silly goofy recode with Freddy Fazbear in it).

I will be far more open and public about everything here now. I'll answer any questions about the features in the comments as they come. More posts to come for the character mechanics, and hopefully not long from now the update will go public.
