--TRTS v2.0 DEVLOG 1: It Actually Came--
Now for a long time, The Return to Sonic's v2.0 update has mainly remained very hidden to the public, I've shared small details her and there but I think it's time I go into a way more in depth explanation on what will be in the update and what is currently done.
For those looking for percentages, the current progress for the game remains as follows:
Graphics/Visuals: 45%
Coding/Gameplay: 50%
Voices/Audio: 75%
Music: 15% (Will be tackled last.)
Story/Planning: 100%
TRTS v2.0 has been a very on and off thing, especially considering my motivation and interest for FNAS content has died down a lot more in recent times. On top of this, the content for the game has severely grown throughout development.
--GRAPHICS/VISUALS--
Along with the skins, most of the game has been redrawn and redesigned!
-New Character Designs-
As you can see, each character has been redrawn. If you take a look at '16 Golden Sonic, you'll notice that his colors have been changed to make the transformation to '17 golden make more sense.
Shadow Sonic is planned to be redrawn, and his personality will be more in line with Dr Robotnik's to tie in with actual FNAS canon.
-New Environment-
A new camera has been added! This new camera is called the "Dressing Room".
There is also a new illustration of the buildings exterior, This might be more visible during the games cutscenes.
-Cutscenes?-
Speaking of which, yes, The Return to Sonic's will now how fully animated cutscenes! I decided to try and give the game its own story, which as of now, has been fully conceptualized.
(This includes a remake of the shadow sonic cutscene.)
--CODING/GAMEPLAY--
So far the only characters that have been fully recoded have been Sonic, Mario, and Yoshi. Many of the characters are undergoing balance changing and buffing to make the game more difficult and engaging.
This includes the addition of Custom Night Exclusive characters, who will be shown off in release only.
--VOICES/AUDIO--
Most of the sound effects have been remade and the game sounds way better than before. Characters in the game will also now rarely speak and taunt the player, this can also help the player know what characters are doing.
Sunset (@Sunset64 ) is currently the voice actor for Clone Mario, and I have taken it upon myself to do the voices for Clone Sonic and Clone Yoshi. We have been on the search for other voice actors, so if you are interested, you are more than welcome to contact me!
--MUSIC--
Besides from some random remixes I yoinked off of Youtube (lol), the game will have its own original tracks. More details regarding the official TRTS Soundtrack will be in future devlogs, as it is something I want to focus on later in development.
One thing I will confirm is that the music heard in the video above is one of Shadow Sonic's many themes.
--STORY/PLANNING--
Like said before, most of the games story has already been conceptualized, this also includes future entries into the series. The lore is more than just a 6 night stand, it seems that Knuckles has a lot more to do this time around.
--CLOSING STATEMENTS--
I would like to start off by saying that there will be a fully customizable settings, I've known for a long while that a settings menu was something you guys wanted for a long while. Keep in mind that I have been trying to tackle my projects along with managing personal issues and education. I would like you guys to keep this in mind going forward.
