the stress test - progress update.

I haven't done one of these in a while, but with the amount of progress I've made, I just had to document it!

Progress on the project has been running ever so smoothly for the past two weeks, I am very satisfied with the decision to reduce the scope of it and although some details are missing (Like transitions between scenes, death animations, and some sound effects) the main mechanics are all in place, they have all been thoroughly tested and I see a very straight forward developement from here on out .

I have optimized some old scripts, learned to work with a bunch of new ways of coding ( Bless the online documentation), fixed a lot of issues and things that made gameplay and physics clunky and finally, FINALLY took the courage to work and scrap parts and features of the game that just didn't work; I finally feel way more confident in scripting, modeling and designing my levels.

Now this is not a big project, by any means, but it is very important for me to make it packed with enough content to entertain the player for at least some time that it can be referred to as a game.

Overall quite satisfied with the way things are heading and I hope that you can enjoy my games, because there is definitely a lot more to come!

oh, he's leaving, he's going. wait- no uhm.. he's gone.

I think I hit the nail with this kind of style, it fits quite well and it's not even that hard to replicate nor achieve!

It's missing some visual effects, but it's there, and it works just fine!

To all new gamedevs, I know you want to jump to the exciting and cool stuff, but make sure your mechanics are all in place and that they work, even if they don't look that good just yet!

Me making another prototype knowing damn well I won't finish it anytime soon.

Interactivity!

I made a small render of a location in a game that's very close to my heart : "Through the fragmentation" by @matepribelszky , and I thought you guys might enjoy it!

You can find the game on their profile, totally worth trying out.

Tasty cherries!

I finally get to work on the lore some more! I really enjoy putting all sorts of tiny details for people to find and piece together the story of the game.

What's your favourite part of the developement process?
