Hello everyone,
It’s been a long time since my last update, and I want to start by thanking all of you who followed the page for Curtain Call: The Secrets of Boris' Theatre. I also owe you an explanation.
When I began working on Curtain Call, I was full of excitement and ambition. I envisioned a rich, immersive story, complex mechanics, and a unique atmosphere. But very quickly, the reality of game development set in. I tried to implement systems I wasn’t yet ready to build, pushed for features beyond my technical skills, and ran into personal challenges that made it harder and harder to keep up.
Eventually, I stepped away from the project completely. I never officially announced its cancellation—I just went silent. For that, I sincerely apologize. You deserved better communication.
Over the past year, though, things have changed. I’ve grown both as a developer and as a person. I’ve rediscovered my passion for making games—but this time, with a clearer mindset and a more focused vision.
Today, I’m incredibly excited to announce a brand new project:
THE THEATER

This is not a reboot of Curtain Call, but a completely new game—one that carries over some of the artistic spirit, but goes in a much darker, more grounded, and more mature direction.
Here’s what you can expect from The Theater:
A darker, more realistic story: The narrative is rooted in emotional themes and psychological tension, with characters that feel human.
Simplified development: The scope of this game is far more manageable. Instead of chasing complexity, I’m focusing on execution and atmosphere.
A unique visual style: The art direction is moody, cinematic, and already showing results I’m proud of.
Sustainable progress: I’ve learned from past mistakes—this time I’m working at a steady, realistic pace with concrete goals.
What comes next?
I’ll be posting regular devlogs, screenshots, progress updates, and insights into the creative process. I also plan to release early builds when ready, and I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback.
To those who were excited for Curtain Call, thank you for your support and your patience. That chapter may be closed, but it helped me become a better creator—and without it, The Theater wouldn’t exist.
This is a fresh start. A new curtain rises. And I hope you’ll be there for the show.
With appreciation,
FASTGERINE STUDIOS
