What Is The YTP Saga: Revisited?
It's simple, really - this is a heavily polished-up, rebalanced, and expanded version of The YouTube Poop Saga. It's basically my plans for v1.3.5 on steroids, and will consist of three updates:
The initial polishing of the game, done to bring it up to the standards of the second DLC, The Second One;
The Undertunnels, a humongous underground dungeon connecting many Earth-side towns in the game;
Local Flavor, a sort-of DLC that adds multiple new sidequests and towns to the game.
This version will be used as the basis for the game's last two DLCs, Vape Nation and Mind Warp.
I've been spending the last six months (starting around Christmas 2024) slowly adding changes to the game, as I was preoccupied with college. Here's what I have so far:
Changes So Far
Widescreen!

The YouTube Poop Saga: Revisited is now in a sort-of widescreen resolution - specifically, 768x480. All of the titles and old 640x480 pictures have been updated (and graphically improved) to match this new resolution, some more seamlessly than others.
(Ignore the identical logo in the picture - I plan to replace it with a new one before the first update comes out.)
Added Interactions
I have went through every map in the game and done two things - first, I gave every event an internal name as I was sick of having to search through every event for the one I wanted to change.

Secondly, I gave silly little interactions to every event that did not have one. These include toilets, doors, computers, and the like. I must have added, like, over 100 of these interactions at least.
You can see an example of one above - this door did not produce any comment in the original YTP Saga.
Skillset Overhauls and New Characters
This is the big one, and what I spent most of my Saga time doing.
I am currently working on skillset overhauls for every party member in the game. The old skillsets reused several skills like Kick in the Dick and Super Punch. This made many party members feel same-y in their purpose and skills, and also didn't really fit the characters and what they're known for.
Worse, a few skills were made useless due to conflicts between their required stats and the party members' stat distribution. (For example, Strength-focused having skills that required Spellpower, which in their case would be low or even non-existent.)
So, I decided to improve each party member's skillset to make them both unique and fun to use. These range from minor tweaks and additions to complete overhauls of moves. Here's a table showing the changes done so far:

And here are two in-game screenshots of party members that have received total skill overhauls:

In addition, I have fully replaced four party members - Normandy, Cocky Dick, Lt. Chill, and Lt. Otzi - with YouTube Poop all-stars. I won't reveal who they are right now, as one is tied to the game's plot and two are going to be optional party members like Hamburger Pimp.
(Two of the new characters are actually in the screenshots attached to this very log. Can you spot them?)
Database Overhaul
The last thing I've worked on is overhauling the items, armors, weapons, and animations that are in the game's database. I've created new icons, animations, and so on to give the game just a bit more polish.
Plus, the animations and their weird sounds make the battles feel like... wait for it... YouTube Poops!

It's hard to showcase these changes without a long gameplay video... but I can show off the new armor replacements. These replace the old RPG Maker VX Ace RTP armor assets after... what, 10 years of them being there? Jeez.
What Still Needs To Be Done
A lot. Here's a rough list of what has to be done before the first YTP Saga: Revisited update is released:
The rest of the skillset overhauls (Gay Luigi onwards)
Graphical overhauls
Enemy/boss overhauls - not to the extent of the skillsets, mind
The actual main plot + DLC 1 + side quest polishing - it's in a rather broken state right now due to these changes, LOL
Map overhauls, done alongside the plot polishing
Entries in bold are what I'd like to finish before the next update log. We'll see what happens, though.
In Conclusion
While I wasn't able to make as much progress as I'd like on The YouTube Poop Saga: Revisited, I'm still glad I was able to do enough to make this meaty update log. Hopefully I can get more done over the summer, and have another update log out in a more timely manner.
Also, just to remind you - YouTube Poop Games has an itch.io page. We're planning to upload YTP World, YTP Saga, and I.M. Meen 2 before the month ends.
