Game
Tsalagi

This game has gone through so many iterations it's not even funny anymore

While derping around with this iteration, shenanigans happened (again). But a couple of interesting things came from it.

  1. The educational Tsalagi game remains, but I am no longer trying to force it into an rpg-style game. Instead, it has been reworked into more of an adventure cozy (like a slightly more intense and interesting Animal Crossing). Going well and making it so much further into development than any of the others.

  2. I still really like the paper style, still want my nostalgic Paper Mario RPG type game. So, while researching for some things, I stumbled into a most excellent paper iteration and even worked out a style and story to go with it. That will be an entirely separate game. It makes me happy, but definitely not ready for public viewing

There is still a lot to do with this game. I'm thinking I might need to release an alpha test package and get some general feedback to help direct some development. I'm more likely to do something if someone asks for it nicely, such as, "Hey, I'd really like to go digging in the Archaeological Site, but there isn't anything there" or "I want to fly the helicopter, but there's such-and-such bug." Compared to me just staring at everything and wondering what to do.

Ah, yes, Grandpa and Grandma's old farmhouse, with a million rooms, basement full of mason jars, and the old '57 Chevy in the garage

I mean, not my Gramma and Grampa, but someone's, right?

Doing some designing of the main village, mostly so I can get some connections in and get the next part of the opening cutscenes roughed in.

NEW PACKAGES AVAILABLE NOW!

Version 1.1.0 is now available for Linux and Windows

-Platform bugs fixed where player fell through the floor

-Area 2 accessible through Level 8

-Minor spiffing up, wax and polish

Behold my beautiful canoe!

Oh no! Jelly blobs of doom!

They're only supposed to be the size of a mini-yux

But doesn't he look so much more prepared for adventure?

And yes, she is carrying a deer foot staff, modeled after one hanging in our house

Today's accomplishments include a rather smooth state machine, a functioning opening cutscene, and name input. It's not pretty, but there aren't any bugs

Did some rough level work in the cave system. Got the long tunnel, and this one is the first puzzle place (if anyone is familiar with the four stairs/doors puzzle in Paper Mario 2, this is going to be very similar).

Did some more work trying to fix up whatever went wrong and...yeah, let's just cut to the end where it didn't work

Started a new project, made some changes, derped around a little, made this cute little guy

Lots of modeling the last few days. Got some houses made, remade some of my terrain blocks (rebuilt the harbor), and started on the NPC models. Also worked on the battle system and the follower system, now with 1/10th the code but 10x more efficient

Battle State Machine is working Player chooses what to do, enemies choose what to do, and they even have variable rates of attack/defend/flee. Next step will be to actually start dealing damage
