It was my birthday. October 7th.
The year was 1983. I was turning 7 years old.
My family and I were just average people in Hurricane, Utah. Of course we heard of the new animatronic birthday place, Fredbear's Family Diner. My mother and father took me to that place for my 7th birthday. It turned out to be the worst day of my life. The scariest day to be exact.
Once we got there, we saw 2 animatronics. A bear, who's name was Fredbear, and a rabbit, who's name was Springbonnie. My mother told me to go play and explore with the animatronics. So I went.
That was when a very scary thing happened. The rabbit started moving towards me. I could tell that it was a human in the suit because it was not walking robotically towards me. I backed up a little but the bunny reassured me that he wasn't gonna hurt me.
"You seem lonely. How about you come with me and we can play some games together!" The bunny said enthusiastically. I agreed reluctantly. Still very shy but I went with the bunny.
He took me into a secluded room which I thought was the game room. However...things were about to change... He locked me in without my permission and told me that the 'game' was about to begin. He told me to sit in the chair near the wall and to close my eyes and not move. So I did. Little did I know, he was planning to kill me. I never knew that at the time. I thought the game was being played and he was gonna hide and I would have to find him.
He took the knife out from behind his back. I peaked a little and saw the knife. The bunny turned around.
"No no no! You weren't supposed to peak! Now we have to restart the game!" He said, trying to get me to go back to how I was. However... I acted on instinct. I ran for the door. Prying it open with my bare hands...the locks were not very good so the door swung open and I ran out of the room. Looking for my parents.
"M-Mommy!! Daddy!!!! Help! The bunny is trying to hurt me!!!" I screamed out. Fresh tears forming and rolling from my face. I kept running. I never looked back. I was afraid to look back. I was afraid to see the bunny.
I finally found my mother, Kaylia, in the dining room. I hugged her tightly.
"Huh? Sweetie, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"M..mommy...the scary bunny...he tried to hurt me!"
"What? How did he try to hurt you?"
I was too afraid to say how Springbonnie attempted to kill me. I just kept urging my mother that we had to leave. I also asked for my father. To wonder where be was. To make sure he was safe... My father arrived and I told him that Springbonnie attempted to hurt me. And he did what any other protective father would do. He went to go confront the bunny.
He told my mom, "Leave without me. Get our little girl at home and safe. I will handle this." And he ran off....
Little did I know...that night...would be the final night I was to see my father alive.
My mother got me home. Comforted me. Told me I was safe and sound. The normal things mother's do. I didn't know that she was also fearing for my father's life. After she put me into bed, got me comfortable, read me my favorite bedtime story, she went back to Fredbear's, to get my father. Little did she know, it was too late...
I was left with my auntie at the time. So I was perfectly safe and unaware of the turn of events.
Maybe it was better that way...but I had to find out...one way...or another...
