Toolkit News and future (expand)

In recent weeks I've been over the toolkit and how it's been a lower priority for a while now. The reason for this besides the extra workload was trying to get the kit to a point it can be used by anyone which was the whole reason for starting it.

When working on completely different games you'd be surprised how often doing something new in one can lead to drastic rethinks in how you develop the other. Having reached such a point I think I can safely say the toolkit if reworked from ground up could be far better.

What I propose to do is make it into an actual game rather than a collection of scripts. One that will work in the same vain as Mario maker, providing an in game map editor where you can set up maps and animatronics, save them as a simple file and be able to distribute the files so others can play maps through their copy of the game.

NOTE: The game would not support custom animatronics or objects for a while so it would be limited for the moment in exchange for simplicity and easy sharing.

Light menu is still undergoing it's refit, some behind the scenes code changes making it easier to edit multiple lights. A light will also toggle on/off depending on its intensity. So custom events don't need to be loaded with two different commands.

working on a new mechanic for the prototype. no need to wander over to those far away items when you can just send in your drone.

Wall height is being adjusted to accommodate things such as stages and lighting while also giving animatronics more breathing space.

I know it has been a while since the last update, but life got in the way. Here we can see how buttons can be customized and given functionality through the event system. More to come as the event system grows.

Modular stage kits are the next addition to the decor tab. Once all its skins are properly textured.

Quick look at a new almost functional feature. The game will auto generate the camera display for your map as you build. There's also been some fiddling with the actual night controller to allow customization of the player.

I've decided to look for people who can help contribute assets to the game. If you know how to 3D model and unwrap and want to help out, give me a message. I'm also offering to pay what I can for contributions.

Tall walls are all modeled and intergrated into the engine and work seamlessly with the previous two wall styles. actual wall skins for this set are incoming. A new test build featuring these changes will follow up soon.
