Well... after that whole shitshow of the dumbass of the dude who decided to put one of he crystals on fire and got infected and shit..

More shitshow happened!!1!1!1!!1

Basically he got EVERYONE who was also there killed and infected, leading to an outbrake and people panicking- (mobians- not humans moon!! >:c) And also the whole 'Rouge is dead, tails is dead and everyone disappeared' thing :p

So like.. now both Sonic and Shadow have to stick together (they totally won't fight over random stupid bullshit) to try to survive and find Knuckles and Amy :> (Don't worry those who love Amy.. She's alive!! [Can't say the same for Knuckles.. {he's not dead but infected as well and lucky for him, he didn't die while getting infected so there's a chance he can come back!!}])

Gurl you said that the 'infected' were going to be highly based off the victim's species- ¿what's with the extra arms?

I forgot to mention that the virus can give, take or upgrade your abilities-

Here yall can see that it gave Sonic 2 more arms (to make up the loss of his speed [I will talk about this in a minute-])

After getting in contact with the virus and slowly getting infected and controlled by it bit by bit, the virus just gets rid of Sonic's speed, taking a HUGE toll on his mental health since yk.. it's literally his EVERYTHING-

This leaves him vulnerable towards the infected and has to constantly rely on Shadow to help him out (which he doesn't like out of pride but doesn't complain-)

Yep! Thats one of the main reason these killing machines go on killing sprees and eat mobians (not entirely) :p

To get rid of that feeling of irritation that's constantly torturing them...

Mobians who get infected (without dying!!) Have more self control and can handle it better but hurts them more since they resist against the urge to kill and eat survivors

Extra/bonus info!!

Sonic is stronger and smarter as an infected so he has some power over other infected

Which means that he can make them do stuff or scare them away from survivors

yep you read that right-

Since the contact with the virus was super minimal and got through a small wound, Sonic has most (from 70% to 80%) of his consciousness (and memories) so he still fights off other threats (those who mainly bother Shadow cuz he's the only one he remembers the most) and helps Shadow out with his re-opened trauma and mental problems<3 (even tho he can't talk bc vocal cords crystallized lol :p)
