Hello there once more, everybody! Today is an special occasion, having in mind that today is the first birthday of the project!
We'll be showing off scrapped ideas and designs alongside new content that has been finished (which is important!).
So, with nothing else to say, let's get going!
+ NEWS
As you have seen, the main poster for the project featuring all the main cast characters has been finished, done by PetersonDrawns. We really like how the poster turned out and portrays the characters Ethan will meet alongside their adventure greatly.
Additionally, some progress has been done regarding the game! All of the original rooms of UNDERTALE up until where Ethan's adventure departs are functional, and a few of the new rooms also are!

Not only that, but some work regarding spriting has been done for Snowdin and battle backgrounds, with two areas that we're sure people will love! Can show just now? No! Be patient and wait until the time is right...someday, trust.
Additionally, Snowdin has been a little more fleshed out, and a familiar face may be back for business?

(WIP, subject to change!)
Now, now. The thing you've been waiting for.
+ SCRAPPED CONTENT
There's so much to talk about this, both personally and as a team, since there are ideas that I (Tomato) quickly scrapped before even starting development on the fangame, or what it'd exactly be about!
Some of these ideas had the main character being a Perseverance/Kindness SOUL magician child, a pirate or even a samurai! Some of these old ideas have been totally thrown off the table.
Due to Undertale Yellow's popularity when I first wanted to make this fangame, ideas about some of it's character having secondary roles in the story (such as Ceroba or Starlo) or even visiting some new areas of the Dunes (with a new antagonist, that was so quickly discarted we didn't even have a name for him), this new subarea would have been populated by skeletons, each with their own text font...can't lie this was another reason to cut it out.

So...talking about scrapped designs, what about Von, huh? Our boy has been under some reworks prior to the final design!

But...what about Kai- I mean, Ethan?

...they sure went under a lot of changes before their reveal, and no, it's not Toriel on the shirt, it was supposed to be a tiger or lion.
But that's not all, folks! We also have the reindeer sisters as the last thing we can really show without spoilers.

...I think the evolution the project has had over a year is wild, and I'm proud of how it has evolved from some bad sprites and crazy ideas to a big story in the world of UNDERTALE that reexplores some of it's ideas in unique ways while connecting them to our own content.
I want to thank all the team that has worked on this for making this possible, and in a future see the fruits of our labor!
See you around, guys.
-Tomato, Team Dark Legend's Director.
