Update 0.0.4

  • Added traits

  • Utilized SRD's HUD Maker Ultra in order to show more in-depth battle mechanics.

  • Reworking opening cutscene and tutorials.

  • Made use of Community_Lighting_MZ (Credit to Terrax, iVillain, Aesica and various others)

  • Replaced Armor Slots with Gem Slots in equipment.

  • Traits were an amazing thing added in Yanfly/VisuStella's "Element/Status Core." This allows me to give different characters and enemies defined (or random) traits that can give different buffs, debuffs, state/element rates, and various other changes, depending on the traits assigned/given (the Male trait gives more physical buffs while the Female trait gives more magical buffs, for example). This would also help out with Adrenic Legends: Adventure once I get this project finished, as the plugin also allows me to change traits at any given time, thus allowing for randomization. This was something I wanted to add into that project, but never had the ability to do so until now.

  • Some characters have an extra gauge specific to their character that allows for more in-depth mechanics. For instance, Taber's character is a "Demonsoul," and so he can't use too much of his magic, or he will become unable to fight as he fights off the soul of the demon from taking over his body for a few turns. Base RMMZ doesn't allow me to just add gauges, but SRD's HUD Maker Ultra helps perfectly! It's also much easier to use than the old version on MV, so that's another plus!

  • As I have started working on a fully-fledged script, I decided to change a few things in my opening cutscenes. All to be said here.

  • This allows me to set day/night, as well as lets me add various interesting effects that use the lighting.

  • Honestly, I derived this idea from the Fairy Tail video game, so credit to Koei Tecmo and Gust for this one. I don't like the armor equips, as I can't actively change appearances along with them. Also, for the sake of the series, I don't want the characters to really change appearance, outside of maybe some kind of costume change system, if I even decide to add one. But Gems don't conflict with appearance and can do the same things, like up DEF, ATK, MAT, HP, etc. I was already planning on adding some variant of this system with Soulka Gems (not the final name), where they are a one-time use and consuming them permanently increases a given stat, but why not just make them into the equipment as a whole?

I started this update months ago, about time it was posted! At the moment I'm limited to working on story and the like, so it may be a week before I can do anything else game-wise. If I'm lucky. Thanks!
