📢 Update 1.2.0: Patch Notes

Version 1.2.0 is now complete and entering the final preparation stage for release. This update focuses on structural improvements, soundscape refinement, and new accessibility options.

Here are the key changes:

🖥️ Interface & User Experience (UX)

  • Pause Menu: A fully functional pause menu has been implemented, allowing quick access to settings, returning to the Main Menu, or exiting the game.

  • VHS Aesthetic: The Main Menu, Settings, and the new Pause Menu now feature a VHS post-processing effect (Original by pend00, ported to Godot 4 by A7meD).

  • Settings Management: The Settings Menu has been overhauled. Changes now require manual confirmation via the "Apply" button, which remains disabled unless there are pending modifications.

🎧 Audio & Atmosphere

  • Dynamic Reverb: Added a Reverb Bus system for enhanced environmental depth and realism.

  • Foley & Footsteps: Footsteps and stair-climbing sounds now feature multiple variations with randomized playback to eliminate mechanical repetition.

  • Asset Update: New sound effects have been integrated, and several existing audios have been re-edited for better fidelity.

🕹️ Gameplay & Systems

  • Player Body: A 3D model for the player has been implemented, visible when looking down or through the pause menu camera.

  • Crouch Mechanic: Added the ability to crouch, which reduces the collision height and movement speed.

  • Telekinesis Refactoring: The system for controllable objects has been completely rebuilt for improved physical precision.

  • Elevator Stability: The elevator system has been refactored, fixing the camera jitter issue during vertical movement.

  • Code Optimization: Player systems have been decoupled from global nodes and moved into the Player’s internal logic for better maintainability.

♿ Accessibility

  • Motion Sickness Support: You can now disable screen animations and dynamic FOV scaling in the settings.

If you have suggestions on how to further improve accessibility, please reach out and let me know.

🎮 Peripherals

  • DualSenseX Support: Integration for DualSenseX is now available (Requires the paid version of DualSenseX on Steam).

Update 1.2.0 also includes several minor bug fixes and performance optimizations. The official launch is scheduled for January 27th.

Thank you for your continued support, Lucas (Sain Dreams)
