Update: First round of closed demo testing

A Bad Day at Work Update:

The first round of closed demo testing is well underway, and lots of improvements are being made using the feedback :)

An interesting statistic:

Less than 40% of testers said they play games similar to ABDAW, yet 75% rated the demo 7/10 or better. Awesome!

Some things testers liked:

"Story dev and sound design"

"all the little things"

"art design and music"

"atmosphere and vibe"

"The comedy was fun"

Some things testers disliked:

"no interaction prompts"

"Controls weren't obvious at first."

"Hard to know which objects to/can interact with"

Some changes made based on the feedback:

  • A sizable proportion of testers mentioned the lack of introduction to controls, so that has now been added!

  • Similarly, every interactable object/person/thing now has a little icon that pops up when you're near them to let you know you can interact with them.

  • Many testers praised the amount of little side interactions within the game, but nonetheless asked for even MORE things to interact with! So more interactable objects and side-stories you shall have!

Stay tuned!

Art Overhaul

The team has gained an artist! This has allowed us to both improve the art in existing levels, and have more pretty art in new ones.

More updates coming soon!

P.S. sorry for dodgy gif compression!

Another house i made long time ago.

I was bored, so... ManutKat.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

My D&D art for my family so far (WIP if you couldn't tell)

It's now possible to destroy some of the obstacles and gain access to new locations or create shortcuts. #gamedev #indiegame #rpg
