update regarding the future of HNR:

HNR is NOT being cancelled, but the next updates are going to be delayed for quite some time. game development is a difficult task, especially if you're doing everything on your own. to be clear, i am the sole developer of HNR by choice. i have improved so much over the past 9 months and i have decided the best thing to do for the wellbeing of this game is to restart development from the beginning.

my code has become increasingly difficult to work with, and this is mostly due to my inexperience when first making said code. i am still a beginner game dev, and HNR is my first actual project. despite all it's flaws and bugs it has currently i am forever proud and thankful for what it has become and what it has created.

i know this isn't what you all wanted to hear, but i honestly feel it'll be better for both me development wise, and for the future of this game. i have massive plans for HNR and the current state of the game is only an incredibly small portion of what i hope to achieve moving forward.

i dont imagine it will take incredibly long for me to work my way back up to where i am now, due to actually having experience, but it still won't be anytime soon. i won't be confirming anything related to dates moving forward. stuff will be released when it's ready, and i hope you can understand that.

after the release of 1.4 and the amount of bugs it brought i saw the same question be mentioned a few times. "why do you not have anyone playtest these versions?" and the answer is... you guys are the playtesters. granted i did have proper playtesters for alpha 1 but that was only because it was a massive update. although my playtester pool was really small and in hindsight i should've had a larger variety of people take part.

i have considered going into a more "closed" style of development, aka, larger playtest pool and updates not being released until they are as close to perfect as possible. that being said only playtesters would be given experimental features. im not sure what people prefer so ill leave that up to you guys. (less often updates but less bugs and experimental gameplay features, or more often updates with more bugs and more experimental changes)

i do wanna apologize for my absence as well. im not gonna lie, life kinda sucks right now, and i haven't felt the need to make a return given how much stuff is going on. i don't want to use this as an outlet to vent because that's not what i should be using it for, but i don't want anyone to forget that im a person too. my life is beyond this game, this community.

while i am forever thankful for what my silly little passion project has turned into, my personal life and wellbeing will always ALWAYS be more important. and the same goes for you. never forget your wellbeing is more important than anything. don't be afraid to take some time off, care for yourself, care for those around you. and never, never forget that you matter.

again, sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but im hoping that HNR will come back better and stronger than ever.

i dont imagine it'll fix everything, but im hoping it's a better experience :)

anyway, i want to get your opinions on this... should the binocular zoom effect be more like alpha 1+ or what was seen in the pre-alpha 10 minute "unedited" gameplay video? i have provided gifs so you can get an idea

what we thinking? prototype house foundation or original foundation for the players house?
