It has been a long journey, and I am glad that it is actually paying off!

Speaking of the journey, I think now is a good time to talk about what lead to current day Tales between the stars!!!!

So get let's get started shall we...

Underswap End of an Era:

So underswap end of an era was my first underswap take.

It was about you playing as the first fallen "Cris" through an underground of familier characters.

It had similar yet different personalities to normal UT. They were more of a "reverse undertale".

I got a lot of help with this take from @meltyzs_

But about a year ago it was said that the take wasn't actually mine which made me feel stressed.

So I canceled the take.

I am planning an uncancelation soon though under a new name "Underswap: I believe in you"!

DreamSwap V1:

This was the very first version of Tales between the stars. And it reused ideas from underswap end of an era which why it might be easy to tell why I changed the take very quickly.

It had many interesting designs and sprites though (They inspired some of the designs in modern day tales between the stars):

DreamSwap V2:

This was the first mostly complete version of this au.

Looking at how much I have actually done back then is very great.

The reason why this take had to be changed though was for 2 reasons.

1. SoupTaels' comment on the au:

One of the things that this au was was a generic underswap take (aka it used designs and characters similar ot undertale).

Soup also almost never comments on projects that are not interesting which made me feel like they actually hated the au.

(This is not an attack towards souptaels at all. I actually think without that comment we wouldn't be where we are today. So thanks soup :D)

2. The hate:

Something I didn't know at the time of making the game name was that "DreamSwap" already existed.

It was a sans-verse swap au.

So when I told people about my au they mistook it for the sane au.

Which lead to comments like "This au should burn in hell" and "An au that shouldn't exist"
Also there were accounts made specifically to hate on the au like @dreamswapisdogshit which made a comment on the game page and sent a form to join the team just about saying their username.

All that hate really broke me which is why I decided to reboot the take.

Leaving all the things I was proud off behind:

Dwellers from a further place / UnderSwap:

This one is very interesting.

Since it was the start of modern day Tales between the Stars.

I wasn't quite happy with it though.

I thought that I could create something better and bigger.

Which made me leave those "things" behind.

Tales FROM betweem the Stars / Legacy Tales between the Stars:

This is the version I hate the most.

The reason being that It is just a clone of Temmieswap by j-bugg.

It used mostly the exact same designs as modern day swap but the story was exactly the same as Temmieswap.

Which is why I redid the story to be more of its own thing.

(since the designs are the exact same I can't show any of the concept art and designs here but I can show some of the stuff we already showed before)

Now comes modern day Tales between the Stars or Tales between the stars reboot:

If you haven't noticed.

So far the entire au was slowly shifting away from undertale in every version of it.

It started as an undertale based au.

But it has now become the closest to being its own game!
