We are still making progress, yes! The Gatekeeper hasn't stopped yet, we're still working behind the scenes!
One thing that I do want to mention, there is no guarantee a proper demo will be released this year, although a demo is currently in development and the plans for it are complete. This demo will include nights one, two, and three, and feature Cypress, Zephyr, Webster, and Character 4. Night one will remain fundamentally similar to the gameplay demo, but Cypress will be tweaked a little in order to keep the night interesting.
Currently I am still working on the art for the game. This is one of the largest projects I've ever worked on, and the amount of art involved is quite extensive. That isn't a problem at all, but I'd like to emphasize that this means development will take a while. Those who have been around for a while are probably already aware of this, but The Gatekeeper is a passion project of mine, and I don't ever plan on cancelling it. This will most likely be the only game I make, and I do want to make sure that I'm confident in the way everything looks and feels.

Currently, I am aware that the area you click to mute the phone call can still be clicked if the cameras are up. I'm aware of that, and it will not be present in the next version of the game.
Sometimes Cypress just doesn’t move. This is just shitty RNG. I’m still new to coding, I still need to improve.

Yes, I’m being very careful with development. I know the direction I want for the game, and I know the features I want to include. No additional enemy characters will be added, only the original seven that were noted at this game’s announcement.
TLDR
We aren’t sure when the next demo will come out, but it’ll have three nights instead of one, and will look, sound, and feel better overall. Also I’m going to put more story stuff in there, the worldbuilding is kind of vague right now.
