While building a geocaching adventure, i thought it would be usefull to test my game out in the wild. It was a sunny afternoon, so there was no excuse not to take this thing for a spin outdoors.
It is now possible to find some items at certain locations. So before i left, i made a grocery list of things i wanted to find.
a cookbook
some candles
a bag of crisps
a can of coke
The first place i visited was our local library. I opened the app and it detected the library correctly and found me the cookbook. One down three to go!
Next i went to a church. I stopped at the entrance, checked the app, but it couldn’t find the church.
I must say it is an abandoned church. I never saw anyone getting in or out for as long as i know. So maybe the building is not registered in the Google api. That happens. I deceided to walk to another church nearby.
On my way to the second church i passed a school and picked up the bag of crisps. I was near a place where i used to live, so i decided to check out the bus station, where i waited countless rainy mornings for a bus to take me to work.
The app detected the bus station and i found a can of coke. Still one item remaining on the list.
At the second church, the app had no problem detecting what the place was and i found some candles. Now i had collected all the items on my list and they were safe Ibe’s virtual backpack.
Besides the hickup at the first church, this was a very promising test session. And i stretched my legs at the same time.
