What engine would be the most versatile to make 2D games?

I don't want to make any 3D games.


Now I am choosing between GMS 2 and Godot.

Chopped "Field of Hopes and Dreams" and made a beat on top of it. I think it could be considered some type of hyperpop/glitchcore. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.
