Not to mention this would be a fun sci-fi/fantasy adventure! It takes place in space. Of course, they visit other planets, etc. But I think they've build up enough worldbuilding to create a fun movie for it.
Plus, this would give Nintendo more incentive to have another StarFox game created. It's either they port over StarFox Zero and give it regular controls, HD graphics and textures, add other improvements, and add multiplayer to it. Or create a brand new StarFox game instead.
If Nintendo plans on making a new StarFox game, hopefully, the game won't necessarily need a gimmick. I don't mind gimmicks so long as they fit naturally into the game. But other games, gimmicks can hold back a game from being great.
I feel that the StarFox franchise has suffered from experimental stuff for years. Just stick to what works and just add on something that will enhance the gameplay experience. Of course, fans will also want a continuation of the story as well.
Of course, I also want it to be animated because I think it will work best as an animated film. I also want it to be handled by a studio who genuinely loves video games and respects the original source material.
