What's been going on?

Hello everyone! I haven’t updated with any game information in a while, so here’s a post to elaborate. I’d like to be more open about the development of my games in the future, since I’ve been caught up in being too cryptic about them ever since LTR.

Ever since I’ve moved on from fan games, development has changed VERY much. What’s nice about original games is the freedom you have to branch out to include different game types and do basically whatever you want in them! Although, the problem is… you have to develop a unique and solid base structure for all of your games, which can be VERY difficult to brainstorm. Of course I could just copy the game-play style of other games, but then players of the game would not have a new experience.

Edit 2020: The dev logs after this were pretty useless, so they have been removed. Essentially there was a two-year period where I worked on original game titles, but struggled getting my concepts working. I've learned a lot in the process and those projects will continue once I'm back out of the fangame loop. Ideas are still being written for them, and they have gotten much better conceptually over time; none of the games have been scrapped, they were just not ready to be worked on. I'll be excited to get back to them with a new mindset and full plans before jumping head-first into development (the lack of proper planning was part of the original issue), but it may be a while before I'm back to it.
