Hello again everyone! It's been a while since I've given a proper update (and the last one I did post, I forgot to post on the game page... oops) so I figured I would drop in with a little something!
My apologies for posting so late at night all the time, I guess I'm more of a night owl at the moment (or night chicken? Perhaps its only late for me?)

For anyone who missed my last post, here's a quick rundown: Lolbyte's AI is finished (outside of any fine-tuning/balancing it may need in the future, of course), our coder Squeaks just finished up college and I just finished up a big commission, so we should hopefully both have more time to work on the game now!

Alright, now for the new stuff:
Currently, as seen above, I'm working on Coraline - or rather, I WAS working on Coraline, as all of the main night section assets for the characters are now FINISHED!
This means everyone can be coded without placeholders. As mentioned before, Silver Chicken is next up on the bracket, likely with Chica to follow.

Also for those who dread the return of Coraline, don't worry! After the last co-developer's hesitance to take and utilize criticism on problems with the game and its mechanics, I've wanted to put player feedback, both previous and current, first and foremost in the gameplay experience.

As such we noted two major complaints with her specifically: That her "attack phase" (so to speak) sound cue is far too quiet for the average player to hear, and that her disorienting effects can be easily powered through by certain players, rendering it quite useless as an obstacle.
Both things we have planned fixes for! (Even if one is really just... increasing the volume of the sound effect, lol)
I won't spoil her modified mechanic JUST yet, as I'd like to run it through testing before we make anything set in stone, but rest assured that she WILL be more of an active threat! (And an audible one!)

In non-character related news, I do still plan on transitioning this development page into the new version soon! As I've mentioned before, this version isn't going anywhere and will be moved over to a separate page and labeled as outdated, but it will still stick around purely for archival purposes.
I'm thinking I'll start to transition this page over to the new version once we're wrapping up character AIs for the main night segments - that way I'll be able to put something in the gallery for you all too!
I really do feel bad that I haven't been able to show a WHOLE lot yet, but I promise its 100% always on my mind. We just want to make sure everything is in tip-top shape before we show anything off more seriously (Squeaks especially, he's a real perfectionist with his work :P)
In the meantime though, I hope my verbal updates and silly posts are still enough to keep you occupied!

Up next on MY agenda is finishing the cutouts (just two Lolbyte ones left!), making new/updated versions of the "high poly" versions of the characters (No, there are no plans to make a high poly version of the game. It would be rather redundant), and eventually making the character animations for the free roam segments. As mentioned before, they'll actually be a threat there now! Yay!
Believe it or not, that's actually something I've wanted since the beginning of development (for this version anyway) only to be told constantly by the previous co-dev that there was no good way to do so... So NOW, I hope I can do it all the justice you guys have wanted!
