UPDATE: In the mean time there is an alternate download for Windows 8. If using the normal package works for you on Windows 8, please inform me.
There is a possible Windows 8 incompatability. I’m currently looking into the issue and if anyone else has problems executing the game on Windows 8 please report it to me along with screenshots. Thank you!
