Winter's Grasp Prototype Release

The prototype is FINALLY HERE!

After an intense week leading up to a great showcase, we’ve published our first prototype. The game is far from complete, and very rough around the edges, but we like what’s there!

This build features a snow-coverd map filled with a few static props, as well as bonfires you can light up. Warmth and cold are functional, so you can die, but we decided to disable the moves as they simple weren’t very presentable, with no animations, unpolished movement and very poorly telegraphed attacks. Gamepad support is there, and the controls can be viewed in the launcher, but I’ll list them here as well for convenience:

Move: WASD/Arrows/Left Joystick

Attack/Dig: LMB/X

Toggle tool: Q/Y/Bumpers

Sprint: Shift/A

While this is just a taste, we hope you’ll enjoy this little preview of the game we’ve been making. We’re very happy to finally be able to share our work, and are even more excited for what’s yet to come!

Thanks for checking out our prototype, we hope you liked what you saw!

Just wanna thank everyone for their support! The reception of the demo has been absolutely incredible. To the cool individuals who actually visit dev pages, you deserve a cat pic.

This Satuday we invite to watch another #speedpainting of our artist Daniel Faiad.

How great is this scene of #Pecaminosa?

What you all think

The whole squad is here!

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.

Spaaaace~

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

Drawn in Piskel using my mouse. Whaddya think?
